Thanksgiving – 9 Feb 2019

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Today marks our 14th wedding anniversary. We cannot say it’s perfect but we are thankful for each other and for the chance to grow and nurture our relationship. Thank you for being with us through this journey. We will not miss a single Saturday Novena Service as long as we are in Singapore. Thank you to you and to your Son, Jesus. We love you.

Your Ever-Grateful Catholic Couple.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for saving me from an accident. As I was driving alongside three buses, suddenly the third bus tried to change lanes without seeing my car. I panicked and swung to the right to avoid it without seeing an oncoming car on my right. With your help, I could feel a hand on the steering wheel pushing me to the left to avoid the car in a spilt second. I would have died if the accident happened because the car was speeding and the driver could not brake in time to avoid my car. No amount of words truly express my thankfulness and gratitude for your help and love. Thank you dearest Mother and Lord Jesus.

  1. Dearest Mother,

A deep and sincere thank you for the successful knee replacement operation that my mother underwent last Friday. Not only did everything go smoothly, her recovery has been nothing short of miraculous. We were nervous about the operation as she is 80 years old and has a very low threshold of pain. She was nervous about the weeks of physiotherapy. But she is responding extremely well to the aftercare and is in good spirits. She should be up and about in no time. All this is only possible through your intercession and love.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

After attending the 5.30pm Novena service on the 8th of September 2018, my family back home informed us that our Dad on his motorbike was hit by an ambulance. He suffered a leg fracture. Though he was in the hospital, the doctor could not perform the operation on his leg as he has so many complications. The 2 weeks of waiting before the operation had been very scary as the complications were life-threatening. His stomach was bloated and he had pneumonia and had to undergo a blood transfusion. In those 2 weeks, it was only to you, Our Mother of Perpetual Help, I could draw courage, reciting again and again the Memorare. I would come in the middle of the night and kneel in front of your image believing the promises of the words in the Memorare and would leave the place full of assurance and relief knowing you heard my plea for help. My dad had a successful operation and is waiting to remove the cast. I am forever grateful for always helping and bringing our prayers to your Son, Jesus.

  1. Dearest Mother,

Thank you for answering my prayers. My brother who was estranged from the rest of the family has accepted my request to visit him and his family on Chinese New Year.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Things has been quite dull and stressful due to school but I want to take some time to thank you for the colours I have been blessed in my life. Thank you for my grandparents who are aging but so loving towards me and my family. Thank you for my parents who are so busy with work yet still set time to talk to my brother and me every day and give us a good environment to grow up in. Thank you for my younger brother, who is willing to share his feelings and thoughts with me. Thank you for interceding for me and always being there whenever I call out to you.

Your Grateful Child.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I thank you for 2 miracles in the past month. The first is for a close friend who was supposed to undergo a heart bypass. On the day of the bypass, I attended the lunch time Mass at Novena Church and asked you to intercede for a successful operation. When I called his wife in the afternoon, I was told that the doctors did not find any blockages. He did not even need the insertion of a stent. The second miracle was when my friend’s wife remained in ICU after a difficult childbirth. I have never prayed the Memorare so hard. I knew that as a Mother yourself, you knew what the family was going through and all that you wanted is for the family to be safe. Two days ago, we received good news that she has been discharged from the ICU and is now recovering. Indeed, “never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession was left unaided.” I thank you, my dearest Mother.

Your Loving Child.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

I cannot wait to write this thanksgiving letter to you. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prompt and powerful intercession to your Son, Jesus, for my daughter’s wedding which took place last week. Your Son, Jesus, has showered abundant and special graces and blessings on my daughter and her husband with a beautiful wedding. It was a smooth-sailing ceremony all the way starting from the Church to the lunch reception. Mother, I can never thank you enough as you and your Son, Jesus, have never failed to answer my prayers. As such, I am indeed truly grateful to you and your Son, Jesus.
