Thanksgiving 19 Oct 2019

  1. Dearest Mother,

I thank you for helping and guiding me through my day surgery to remove a cyst under my left thigh. I asked for your intercession and mercy that the cyst will not be cancerous and it was found not to be cancerous. I am truly thankful and grateful to you for interceding for me.

Your Loving Daughter.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

Thank you for the blessings you gave to my brother-in-law in a police investigation for which he was wrongly accused of. The police closed the case and his career is not affected. Once again, thank you for everything that you have done for my family and my in-laws.

Your Child.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I have been a Novenite for the past 30 odd years. Over the years, I have come to you for so many favours and you have obtained them for me from your beloved Son, Jesus. We have been praying for my PR application to be approved. Though the chances seemed slim, we persevered with our prayers, and you obtained for us the grace we ardently prayed for. Accept our heartfelt thanks, Mother Mary.

Your Devoted Son.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

I got to know you when I was 11. That was the 1st time I ever attended the Novena service. As an altar boy who later assisted at the Novena services, I was keen to do all my tasks; without giving myself and opportunity to know you. The years passed and I had heart breaks and disappointments in my tertiary years. I only remembered you during those difficult times, not when things were going well. And, as I started working and grew in seniority, the problems got bigger and larger. You always helped me through them. You would intercede to Jesus on my behalf all the time. I probably faced my toughest personal and professional challenges in the last few years. You redeemed me from my personal struggle with a soulmate, prayer partner and spouse. You also redeemed me from my professional struggle with my name cleared, a new job with new responsibilities and essentially with a fresh start. Dearest Mother, I would like to thank you for everything you have done. Life will never be smooth sailing without you.

Your Loving Son.

  1. Dear Mother,

Two weeks ago, my mother passed away peacefully in her sleep. Although her health was declining, she did not have any critical illness, so her death came as a big shock to us. Nonetheless, we are consoled that it was a peaceful departure – her prayer for many years. My family are Buddhist but my mother had bought a house close to Novena and brought me to Church. As a child, I came for Novena Devotions occasionally. I started attending the Novena regularly only as a teen. My elder brother was about to be enlisted into the National Service and my mother was feeling anxious and a friend reminded her that the Novena Church is just next door. I was awaiting for my “O” Level results then and decided that I should bring my prayers to you. Since then, I have been coming every Saturday. Mother, thank you for giving me a mother who introduced me to the Novena and who repeated the simple but powerful words of her friend that the Novena Church is just next door. My earthly mother has left me, but I know that I can always turn to you Mother, for your perpetual help.

Your Non – Catholic Child.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for blessing my family with the birth of a baby boy this June. I had difficulty conceiving for 2 years and it is through your intercession that I got pregnant. I prayed that he will be healthy and grow up well.

Your Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

Thank you for giving me a refreshed sense of confidence in the way I perceive others and interact with them. I have learnt to check myself before I judge others. The greatest sufferer when I do that is myself. Thank you for renewing the way I see the world. I have gained some wisdom to live life freely, letting go of things that are vain. I pray for strength, courage and knowledge to sustain these thoughts and attitude.

Your Loving Son.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I want to thank you very much for your care and protection given to me during my recent operation at Tan Tock Seng Hospital to remove a cancerous tumour in my colon. The operation was successful. I prayed to you daily while warded in the hospital. I brought my Novena Prayer Book and kept it beside me throughout. Mother, in the silence of the night, lying in bed, I found the Novena Prayer Book has miraculous power. It gave me peace of mind, courage and a strong feeling that you are beside me to protect me. This has proven to be true. I am now discharged and recovering at home. Thank you so much.

Your Faithful Daughter.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

I would like to thank you for answering my petitions every time I write to you. You have never failed to intercede for me. I wrote in to pray that my daughter will be able to get good grades for her Masters and find a suitable job thereafter. I am happy to say that she will be graduating this December and she is doing some project work for an organization which was offered to her recently. Mother, I cannot thank you enough for your constant intercession and I will always be most grateful to you.

Your Loving Catholic Daughter.

  1. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

I have been visiting your shrine since I was 10 years old. Now I am 83 and I am still visiting you. You have showered me with many blessings. You have been with me through thick and thin, yet I have never written a letter to thank you. I always feel afraid to write and I don’t know how to express myself. But today I feel compelled to write this letter. My grandson is 18 years old and has just entered National Service on 1st October. Before his enlistment, his mother brought him to your shrine to pray for help and protection. I can feel your movement in his life. He is physically fit, mentally prepared and in his own words “I’m settling into life here and it’s been good”. I know you are there with him and I feel that special happiness which I never expected to receive from you. I thank you with all my heart.

Your Grateful Daughter.
