1. Dearest Mother Mary,
My father has always come to you and prayed for my sister and me. Through the years, I myself have come to you in times of trouble and every time I attend the novena service, I feel God’s peace within me. I am grateful that I am able to hear the comfort of God’s words and experience the peace and calm God has bestowed on me in my times of difficulty. Thank you for always bringing our prayers to the Lord.
Your Loving Daughter.
2. Dearest Mama Mary,
Thank you for interceding for me and my family. With your help, my prayers were heard and granted by your Son, Jesus. My ultrasound scan was normal and my baby is healthy and developing well in my womb.
Your Daughter.
3. Dearest Mother,
My grandson went for an open heart surgery at 2 days old. He is now home and well after 2 and a half months stay at the Intensive Care Unit. Every day I come before you to ask to intercede and pray for the Lord’s blessings and healing for him. I am very grateful that he is home. He still has to be tube fed as he is unable to finish drinking his milk from the bottle. He is otherwise well and alert. I know he is very blessed as he never caught any infection during his stay in the hospital. Thank you dearest Mother for your prayers and the Lord’s healing and blessings.
Your Grateful Daughter.
4. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,
Thank you for my best friend. She is really nice and helps me with homework when I do not know the answers. She is really funny and keeps me in great company.
Your Most Grateful Catholic Daughter
5. Dearest Mother Mary,
Thank you for the prayers answered. I came to your shrine seeking your guidance and protection over my daughter as she has decided to stay in the university dormitory. She has now decided not to continue staying there because she finds it not conducive to study because of the distractions by her room mate and boyfriend who frequently visits her there. I thank you for my daughter’s prompt decision. Continue to lead her in God’s way and not the way of this world.
Your Grateful Daughter.
6. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,
I am writing with a very thankful heart to you. I prayed one whole year for new house. Though I am eligible for only a HDB flat, I was praying for a big house with a big kitchen, a big corridor and a big hall. I have rosary prayers in May and October every year in my house, hence I wanted space in my humble home. In 2015, I was blessed with a big HDB flat at a reasonable price. Those who come really cannot believe seeing my home being so big and so windy. There is so much peace in there, dear Mother. Since then, I had many rosary devotions and some bible quiz for kids at my home. Friends and loved ones really love to come to our home. I have a perfect place for my quiet time with our Lord and you. Thank you for praying for us.
Your Catholic Children.
7. Dearest Mother,
Two weeks ago when I heard that my son had problems and difficulities with his property transaction, I wrote in a petition and asked for Jesus’ help through your intercession. Later, when I heard from my son that nothing had changed and the problem was still there and added to that, he also had to pay a daily penalty charge, I came to your shrine and prayed earnestly for your help. I prayed the Memorare, and the words of the prayer gave me hope and confidence… “Never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection or sought your intercession was left unaided…” I left your shrine knowing full well that everything will be okay according to God’s plan. The next day after praying at your shrine, I received news that the property transaction had gone through and all was okay. Thank you dear Mother, for interceding to Jesus to help my son.
Your Grateful Child.
8. Dearest Mother Mary,
I wish to thank you for making it possible for me to come to the Novena Church and to offer a thanksgiving Mass for all my answered prayers.I have heard a lot about this church. For the past few years, I always had the desire to visit the Novena Church due to the love I have for you, dearest Mother. But I never thought my dream of visiting the church would be at the first mass celebrated on 29th September, 2017 after the church had been renovated. I got to know about the renovation and reopening only a week before the date. Thank you for this special invitation dearest Mother and for making it possible. The joy of being present at the Novena Church is indescribable. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help, may many who visit this Novena Church and seek your help experience the same blessings as I, my family have.
Your Ever Loving Daughter.
9. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,
This is my 1st time attending the Novena after 17 years of conversion and this is my 1st thanksgiving letter to you. Thank you for interceding for me and my husband. He stopped attending church for about 10 years. After these years of prayers, when Novena Church reopened, I decided to go and attend the Saturday Novena. After attending the Novena, my phone rang. My husband called and asked where I was, I told him that I attended the Novena. His replied “why did you not ask me to come along?” I was shocked. In my heart, I doubted. The following Saturday, I asked him and he came with me. He has attended 3 Saturday Novenas and he said he wants to attend 9 Novenas till Christmas. To Jesus through Mary. Amen! Thank you Mother Mary.
Your Daughter.
10. Dearest Mama Mary,
This is a long overdue thank you letter. 12 years ago, I was engaged to a non-catholic man. Prior to this engagement, we had a 5-year long relationship. Both of us had agreed about my fiance’s faith conversion and the wedding to be held in the Catholic Church. However, during the marriage preparation, his family, particularly his father, was against his conversion. For him, as a wife-to-be, I must follow the faith of my husband-to-be. I was sad that they wanted me to give up my faith. I accepted their invitation to attend their church service once. Coincidentally, the topic their pastor was preaching on, was their objection of Catholics who honour Mary. I have been your devotee since my childhood. Their preaching against you offended me and made me stand up for my faith. Tearfully, I returned the engagement ring in front of my fiance’s family. I would rather be heart-broken and be single for the rest of my life than give up my faith and lose you, my mother, Mary. I prayed for your intercession in choosing my fiance. Though he was not a Catholic, his willingness to convert made me believe that he could be the one whom God has prepared for me. We parted in tears. I lived silently in tears with my rosary as my consolation. I had not asked anything more from you but just to help me cope with the pain and to intercede for my emotional strength. God has moved in a mysterious way. One day, my ex-fiance came to me to inform me that his father had allowed his conversion. After he completed all the sacraments, we held our wedding in the Catholic Church. Indeed, it was such a great blessing. It was all because of your intercession, Mary, that God had wiped my tears away and blessed me. He heeded my cries. After the wedding, my husband could not embrace the Catholic faith totally because his family wanted him to be in their church on Sundays. I prayed for your intercession, Mary, that my husband would recognise and accept you as the Mother of Jesus and our Mother, so that we may be united in faith as couple. 2 years later, God brought us here to Singapore where we lived independently as couple. At the Novena Church, with all the testimonies being read during the Novena, my husband has recognised your role and your importance in a Christian’s life. Mother Mary, words cannot express my joy that my prayers were granted. As a couple, we attend Sunday Mass regularly, attend the novena sessions and pray the rosary together. God made Singapore, a place for us to strengthen and unite our faith as a couple, and made Novena Church the place for my husband to know you more and love you. Thank you for your intercession and thank you for the people who shared their testimonies. In a way, they are also sharing you with other people who have doubts in you.
Your Loving Daughter.
11. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,
This letter is long overdue. I am not a good writer but all I want is to thank you and your Son, Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour.
I can never thank you enough dearest Mother and your beloved Son, our Lord Jesus, all these sixty over years. When my husband died in 1996, my children were still schooling, one in Primary 5 and the other in Secondary. I became the sole bread winner. I put my trust in you and your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, that He will provide all that my family needed. I clung to you for strength, peace and courage to go forward with my life.
I had to leave the houe very early in the morning for work and came back home late in the evening. I know you were always there to guide and protect my children that they stayed faithful to our Catholic Faith and did not go astray. Due to your constant help and guidance, they managed to complete their university studies. Now they are married and again I thank you and your Son for leading them to marry good and understanding partners.
Your Ever Loving & Faithful Daughter.
12. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,
I want to thank you and your beloved Son, Jesus, for interceding for me always and for keeping me in good physical and mental health so that I am able to work and support myself. I was brought to the Novena when I was 12 years old by my mother when I was sitting for my PSLE.
My dear mother passed on at the ripe old age of 90. She is in heaven with you now, watching and praying for us. She is Christian but not a Catholic, yet she honours you with all her heart and soul. Towards the end of her life when she was still very lucid, she requested us to place a picture of you, Mother Mary, on the wall next to her bed. She touched the picture every night before she slept. When her dementia was at its worst, and she could not remember anything all she did was to pray to you. That is how strong her faith was.
When she was able to go to Novena on her own, she never missed a session. She had to take 2 buses to get to the Novena Church. At a later part of her life when she could not travel on her own, I made it a point to take her to Novena every Saturday. I miss my mother very much everytime I am at the Novena.
I am 70 years old now and will not miss a Novena session. Thank you, dearest Mother for this beautiful church for us to honour you Saturday after Saturday. Thank you for all the great work that is being done here in this church and always being there for the worshippers.
Thank you for my earthly mother, who has instilled this deep faith in me. Whenever I am troubled, I know that there is always help for me in Jesus and you, Mother Mary, I just have to call on you. Thank you for everything and I am so happy to be a Catholic and have Jesus and Mother Mary always by my side.
Your Loving Daughter.
