Thanksgiving – 28 January 2023

1. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for protecting me for 22 years since I came to Singapore. I came here with $20. I was so worried because my salary was only $300 and I was working in a nursing home. My friends were working in restructured hospitals with high salaries. I prayed to you, Mother Mary, to get a better job so that I can save up for my marriage. You heard my prayers and I got an offer in the hospital. They allowed me to sit for exams and I passed the exams and managed to secure a PR status here and got married to a God-fearing child. God has given me two beautiful children. We managed to purchase a flat and my husband found a better job. Mother, you are always listening to my prayers. You saw my tears. I am married for 21 years and now we are settled down in Singapore all through your prayers and blessings.

Your Faithful Daughter.

2. Dear Mother,

Last year was a difficult year for me both professionally and personally. I had to deal with unreasonable bosses who did not guide me but were always quick to point out my errors when things went wrong and took credit when things went well. I came to your shrine often praying for strength to carry on and many miracles happened along the way when issues were resolved not by my own working but God’s intervention. Yesterday, my work was published in the newspaper and many in the firm congratulated me for doing well. I am really happy and thank you Mother, for your intercession for me.

Your Daughter.

3. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

I want to thank you for all the blessings that have been bestowed upon me. Recently, I had a fall and there was a big swelling on my head. Fortunately, I did not suffer from any fracture despite my age. I am 77 years old and I am sure Mother, you must have protected me. I am most grateful to you.

Your Child.

4. Dearest Mother,

I would like to thank you for my loving and wonderful girlfriend. We have decided to journey further towards marriage. Please continue to be with us guiding us in our preparation.

Your Son.

5. Dear Mother,

Thank you for blessing my nephew and his young family with a safe journey to and from the Philippines at the end of last year. Their flight was scary as the pilot had to abort the landing due to heavy fog. In the end after a delay, they made it to their destination safely. They also returned safely on the appointed date but there were many flights which had to be delayed. Thank you for your intercession in looking after them and bringing them back home safely.

Your Loving Daughter.

6. Dear Mother of Perpetual Succour,

Thank you for letting my family and I have a meaningful family gathering on Christmas last year. It was the first time in 3 years that we have been able to meet physically for a celebration. Thank you for your intercession in making sure everything went on smoothly and happily. My son’s belated 21st birthday party also went ahead successfully at the end of the year and I am grateful for your intercession with your Son, Jesus, that we could make these events happen.

Your Grateful Daughter.

7. Dearest Mother,

I come to thank you for the many petitions that were answered through your prayers. I have never written a thanksgiving and I feel rotten about this. I want to thank particularly for helping my grand-daughter obtain good results for her ‘O’ Level exams and she managed to get into a Junior College of her choice. You have really shown your love for her. I didn’t expect her to do that well. I think this is the best result in all her years. Mother, thank you once again from the bottom of my heart.

Your Loving Daughter.

8. Dearest Mother Mary,

Words are not enough to express the sincere gratitude that I have as I enter the final stretch of my university education. It has been ups and downs as I did not do well in my previous university education and I had to withdraw from it. However, things aligned nicely with your intercession and I was able to restart my education. I was able to do well and have only 1 more year to finish. I know that you were there through all my ups and downs. Even when the issues were not resolved, you provided me with the confidence that I would forge my own path forward. I am forever grateful and I seek your intercession to help me pull through this phase of my life.

Your Grateful Son.

9. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Words cannot describe how happy I was after learning that my daughter did well in her ’O’ Levels. Her results are above our expectations and she can enroll into a Junior College. I know this is only possible through your intercession and blessings.

Your Faithful Son.

10. Dearest Mother,

I want to thank you at the beginning of 2023. Thank you for being with me these many years and I am glad to have known you and have this faith in you. I have so much to learn but I know you are always there, during both good and bad. Thank you for everything.

Your Non-Catholic Daughter.
