Thanksgiving – 6 Oct 2018

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

I am writing to thank you for your prayers during my recent illness whilst I was on a business trip in the States. Despite going to the local clinic and being prescribed with medication, I did not get better. 3 days into the medication, my condition had continued to deteriorate. It was then that I had to fly back to Singapore for treatment.

My wife was informed and she came to your shrine at Novena and prayed for my safe trip home. The journey back was fraught with difficulties and the flight was delayed for 3 hours due to bad weather and I almost missed the connecting flight. Somehow miraculously through your help and intercession, I managed to board the connecting flight to Singapore with just 40 minutes before the flight took off. I was extremely sick, running a fever, breaking out with a rash, having symptoms similar to mononucleosis, pain throughout my body with swollen joints and feet.

Throughout the long and arduous flight home and despite the suffering, I somehow was able to cope with all the pain and suffering. I was treated by my doctor here and have since been on the road to recovery. Thank you so much Mother Mary for your help and intercession and for answering my wife’s prayer to bring me home safely and for my recovery. You are indeed a Mother of Mercy.

Your Catholic Son.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you very much for answering my petition last week. My gastroscopy and colonoscopy procedures went smoothly and I had 4 polyps removed from my colon and 2 from my stomach. They were all found to be non-malignant.

Your Loving Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

I write to thank you on behalf of my non-Catholic friend. She is now recovering well from her heart and thyroid problems and all is now under control with medication and with no surgery required. Thank you once again for your love, care and intercession.

Your Grateful Child.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

Thank you so much for keeping us safe on our travels and for bringing us home safely from Hong Kong. We were uncertain about whether our flight home would be cancelled because of Typhoon Mangkhut. Through your intercession, our flight went through and was one of the last few flights out of Hong Kong shortly before the typhoon. We flew safely home despite the strong winds and turbulence.

Your Loving Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

One of the best things my mother gave me was the gift of the Catholic Faith. The next was a devotion to you which has resulted in a deep love for you. From a tender age, my mother would drag me to the Novena weekly even at the expense of cancelling my supplementary lessons. I never realised it was a treasure only till I was in my late adult years. We are not wealthy but through your intercession and watchful eyes over us, my family is tremendously blessed. There was a time when I left the Church and it was you, Mother, who brought me back. When I eventually returned to the Catholic Church, it was through the Novena. You have always been there for me, looking out for me, loving me and interceding for me. I love you Mother Mary, with my life. Thank you for allowing me to know you and help me to be a blessing to others so I can share your Son’s blessings in my life.

Your Ever-Grateful Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Our Lord has blessed me with many good years, a family and with 2 adorable granddaughters. There were tragedies in my life too, the death of my daughter when she was 3 years old and my husband’s infidelity. Our Lord has carried me through all these trials and your prayers and intercession. I wish to thank you for being with me.

Your Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for the Redemptorist Mission Team for coming to CHIJ Katong Convent for the retreat. The session helped me to pray and guide my students during their last lap as they race towards their O Levels. Thank you for encouraging the teachers and students to work closely together.

Your Grateful Daughter.
