Thanksgivings – 7 Oct 2017

1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for your prayers and intercession that have made the redevelopment of the church a reality.

Your Loving Children.

2. Dearest Mother,

I just arrived back after attending the 7am and 8am novena service to write this thanksgiving letter. I shared the same sentiment as the preacher in his reflection in which he said there is nothing like this in our country, a beautiful place of worship. Credit must go to the people who made it possible.

I was hospitalised at NUH from 27 September to 29 September. I woke up in my bed and my first prayer was the rosary asking our Mother Mary to let me be discharged so that I can be able to attend the first Mass that I longed for. On 29 September, the doctors were making their rounds and they decided to discharge me. I could not believe my ears and I immediately offered a silent prayer to thank you, Mother, for answering my prayer.

Your Son.

3. Dearest Mother Mary,

My grand-aunty was called home to be with the Lord on the 25 September, I know that you must have been there with her during that period of time as she did not suffer much. Thank you for not letting her suffer during her final hour here on earth. As she is now with the Lord, may you help her to find peace. As I know she will still be worrying about us, please let her know that we are ok.

Your Catholic Son.

4. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I am a Taoist. I was recently diagnosed with an early stage of Endometroid. I went through a successful surgery and today I am fully recovered. I am writing to thank you for the many blessings which you have prayed for me during my difficult time. My family and I are very grateful for this beautiful blessing. Please continue to bless me and my parents, my husband, son and daughter with a good health. We believe you will heal and protect us, Mother Mary. We love you.

Your Non-Catholic Daughter.

5. Dearest Mother,

Thank you for the opening of Novena Church on 29 September 2017. As I walked up the staircase to the church, it was a great feeling for me remembering my late parents and my 2 brothers. I am happy to be able to attend the Novena Devotions in this church again.

Your Non-Catholic Child.

6.Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

We would like to thank you for everything. Thank you for guilding my husband to come back to a normal condition after he suffered a mild stroke last March and was confined in the hospital for 4 days. Thank you very much for this miracle. We love you so much.

Your Grateful Children.

7. Dearest Mother,

I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have been there with me through the years. The best gift you have granted me was the right partner in marriage. It lasted for 53 years. There have been wonderful years with love and respect and of course with the ups and downs. My first Novena was in the early years when it was held in the house and later the church was built. There have been so many changes and now the most beautiful church. When it was being built, I thought at my age of 86, I will not be able to come but with your help all is possible and I am here today.

Your Grateful Daughter.

8. Dearest Mother Mary,

It is very nice to be back to Novena Church. When I first came to Singapore, I heard about your church and made frequent visits. Now I am so happy that I have stayed and lived in Singapore for 10 years. And I am happy to see the new Novena Church. Thank you for all the wonderful blessings I had received through the years. Life may have a lot of challenges but your great example of patience and obedience helped me and reminded me of God’s love.

Your Faithful Child.

9. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Finally, Novena Church is completed. I am happy to be here today for the first Mass. I thank you and Jesus for making it possible. I know it was a hard and long journey and with your help. Beloved Mother, it is completed. I look forward to attending the Novena Devotion every Saturday. Thank you Mother Mary, for answering all my prayers. Continue to bless all of us and let there be peace on earth.

Your Beloved Daughter.

10. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

This is my first thanksgiving letter on the first Novena in this new church. I want to thank you, dearest Mother from the bottom of my heart for all the care and love you have provided me and my family all these 50 years and more. I love you so much that I cannot put it into words.

Your Loving Daughter.

11. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you so much for everything in our lives. Our dearest earthly mother is with you and our Lord Jesus in everlasting happiness.

Your Everloving Family.

12. Dearest Mother Mary,

What am I to say here, that you do not already know? You see me, guide me, and walk with me every second of my life. Often, it’s whether I am listening or not. Therein the problem lies. As such, you know what I need at this point in time, perhaps even better than I do. Therefore, this is to serve more as a thanksgiving than a petition. A huge thanks Mother for all the intercession and most of all for never giving up on me.

Your Loving Son.

13. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

In these 3 years of awaiting for your new church, I lost my brother and my dad but I am sure they are now enjoying eternal happiness with you and your Son, Jesus. Mother, I like to thank you for keeping my family and me healthy and alive to be able to attend the Novena Devotions and come back to your shrine anytime of the day to pray, feel comforted and receive the peace in my heart.

Your Loving Daughter

14. Dearest Mother Mary,

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being able to be here for the first Novena Service in the new church. This novena will be remembered for my family as it’s my daughter-in-law’s birthday. She is so blessed and I am sure she will remember this event especially on her 47th birthday as it coincides with the 1st Novena Devotion. Thank you also for bringing my family back to the Novena.

Your Loving Child.

15. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

This evening, I had the privilege of attending the first opening Mass at the new Novena Church. Together with many other worshippers, I had the first glimpse of our beautiful church. It was an awesome sight to behold. Thank you Mother Mary for making this possible. And also a big Thank You to all the Redemptorists, the committee members, the fund raisers, the architect, designers and labourers and many others who made this church so beautiful. Please continue to bless this big Novena Family and continue to answer our prayers.

Your Grateful Daughter.
