Thanksgiving – 9 October 2021

1. Dear Mother Mary,

No words can adequately express my deepest thanks and love for you. On your birthday, I recalled all the times you have heard my prayers and interceded for me. Many low points in my life have been made blessings only because you taught me how to cooperate with the plan of God and accept sufferings for the betterment of myself, and for the rest of humankind. 3 years ago, I came to your at your shrine to ask for good scan results after doctors discovered a lump when examining my abdomen and ordered further tests. With 3 young boys, I pleaded with you to intercede for me that all would be well. I managed to make it to your shrine between the doctor’s appointment and the scheduled scan despite heavy traffic, and miraculously, all scans showed it to be an inflamed gall bladder and nothing more. Indeed it was through your intercession that I was granted a clean bill of health. A few months later, I discovered that my husband had made a decision and committed an act I could not agree with. He was unfaithful and I could not accept the pain he had caused. I had a fight with him and ran out of the house to come to your shrine. He followed me and we attended the Novena Devotion together. I was in tears throughout the session and I believe you heard us united in prayer that day. That night, after the boys were asleep, we had a heart to heart talk and the words my husband spoke that night were surely made possible by the Holy Spirit through your intercession. What he said also opened my heart to the possibility that I had a role to play in the failure of the marriage and I needed to be forgiven too. My husband told me after the talk that what he said was definitely not with his own wisdom but the power of the Holy Spirit working in him. Because he was willing and because you interceded for us, that incident has been a turning point in our marriage and since then, we have been able to stay united despite challenges and difficulties, because we have experienced your immense love for us and God’s amazing love for us. With God and through you, all things are possible. A month later, I had a procedure for my womb and my gynaecologist said it would be a miracle if I conceived again. However, a month later, we found out that I am pregnant and we are now blessed with our 4th boy, a loving and wonderful 2 year old. Indeed God’s timing and plan are not ours. And if we cooperate, all things will turn out well and good. Today, my family and I are happily living in Melbourne. We decided on our move here last year and since then, we have had many encounters with God through your intercession. Difficult challenges have always been presented with solutions and we know you are always helping us in our journey. No matter how difficult the challenges ahead may be, we know you’ll always be with us. May we learn to be instruments of God just as you were.

Your Loving Daughter

2. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for watching over me and keeping me safe. I was involved in a bad car accident last week involving multiple cars along the expressway. Thankfully I did not have any major injuries. Please continue to watch over me and pray for me.

Your Grateful Son.

3. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for protecting and guiding my family in times of financial difficulty and an unexpected health diagnosis. We trust it’s your way of protecting us from more difficulties. We forgot you in those difficult moments but it was your loving hands that guided us back and reminded us that we have a bigger purpose and we must trust in you. My family invite you to our hearts and we will not waiver in our faith as we place our trust in you.

Your Loving Daughter.

4. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for your intercession for me. I am a 19 year old and I completed my “A” Levels last year. I was moved by the sufferings of the Indians during the oxygen shortage a few months back and I wanted to help in any way possible. So I donated $100 to Charis who was leading Singapore’s humanitarian aid efforts in India. I had no desire to receive anything in return. Later, I also made a donation to the Army Charity Drive in support of the people suffering from Covid. A couple of weeks afterwards, I received a letter from Sinda notifying me that I had been granted an excellence award for my performance in the “A” Levels. This award came in nearly 8 months after my exams and the award amount was $200. I did not even know about the existence of such an award and I was truly surprised in receiving it. Thank you, Mother Mary, for praying for me and for the miracle I have witnessed of receiving more in return from God than I gave. I will save this money and make good use of it to develop myself so that I can become a better child of God.

Your Loving Son.

5. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to become a better woman to learn from my mistakes to treat others, especially my family members, with more patience and to forgive and forget other people’s wrongdoings. Thank you for walking with me in the journey of my life so that I don’t feel alone when struggles arise. I am grateful for knowing you and your Son.

Your Daughter.

6. Dearest Mother,

Thank you for listening to my prayers. Last month I was shortlisted for two jobs. I managed to secure a job and I will be starting soon in October. I am deeply grateful in my heart and will always be indebted to you. I know it’s only through your love and prayers that I managed to get a job like this. I really hope I can rebuild my life again financially and be able to care for my family members.

Your Grateful Daughter.

7. Dearest Mother Mary,

My daughter & son-in-law collected the keys to their flat last week after delays in the construction work. I pray that you will guide them in their married life together and may they be blessed with a child soon.

Your Loving Daughter.

8. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I want to thank you and your Son, Jesus, for all the blessings that have been showered on me for the past 60 years. Most of all, Mother, I want to thank you for leading me to the Catholic Church so that I got to know Jesus and was baptised. My baptism was the best gift God has given me and I am eternally grateful to you and Jesus.

Your Ever Grateful Child.

9. Dearest Mother,

I like to thank you for our gift of life and all the blessings we have received this year. Through the planning of my wedding and the starting of life together with my husband, we have so much to thank you for. Please continue to bless us and guide us on the path meant for us by our Lord.

Your Loving Daughter.

10. Dearest Mother Mary,

A few weeks ago I wrote a petition asking for your intercession for my daughter who was going overseas to continue her studies to have a safe journey. I want to say thank you, Mother, for praying for her. She arrived safely and has started her semester.

Your Daughter.
