Thanksgiving – 7 March 2026

1. Dear Mother Mary,

With a grateful heart, I offer thanksgiving for interceding for me to find a new job opportunity. The past 8-9 months have been a deep struggle of emotional turmoil and uncertainty. Yet, through your prayers, I found strength to carry on. Attending the devotion at Novena church brough comfort and renewed hope. God placed steadfast pillars of love in the form of my mother and daughter, whose support, patience and encouragement carried me through the darkest days.

I thank God for giving me resilience, restoring my spirit and opening this new door of hope. After rigorous rounds of selection and approvals from senior management, I received the job offer just yesterday evening – a blessing for which I am deeply grateful. I pray for continued guidance, strength and humility as I step into this new chapter in the months ahead.

I am also deeply thankful for the priests who prayed for me every time after mass. Their intercessions brought great comfort and strength. With profound gratitude and trust in your divine plan.

2. My deepest thanks to Jesus for the wedding of my 2nd son in January. He is a quiet person, and I was worried that at 35 yrs old he was still single. I prayed that Jesus will bring the right person into his life. I was overjoyed 2 yrs ago that Jesus brought this person to meet my wife and me, and they were married at Nativity Church last January. I thank Jesus for answering my prayer. I thank Jesus for the ups and downs in my life and for His invisible guiding hand, helping me all the time. Thank you, my Lord, my God.

3. Dearest Mother,

For the past three months, I have been unemployed. During this period, recruiters frequently contacted me, asking permission to submit my profile to their clients. However, most attempts resulted in either silence or rejection emails informing me that my application was unsuccessful. Two weeks ago, my wife and I attended the 4pm Novena together. I asked for your intercession to petition your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, for an opportunity that only He could provide. Before the Novena session, I also picked up Father Simon’s book, ‘Never a Dull Moment with God’. My wife and I have been reading it alternately, and we have found it truly captivating. The following Monday, two different recruiters contacted me. By the end of that week, one recruiter scheduled an interview for me on Friday morning. This position was quite new for me, as it required a different set of skills. The interviewers posed many situational questions about how I would handle the role. I responded honestly and to the best of my ability, which also revealed my knowledge gaps. At the interview’s conclusion, we exchanged our thanks. The interviewers candidly mentioned they needed to review other applicants internally. After lunch that day, the recruiter called to inform me that the interviewers were willing to give me a chance. I could hardly believe it, but I gave all glory and honour to God and thanked you, Mother Mary, for interceding for me. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity. I am sharing this testimony for others who may be facing similar circumstances. My message is this: Surrender to God and allow Him to handle what only He can. He makes all things beautiful in His time. Though I feel anxious and uncertain about what lies ahead, I will rely on both Him and you, Dearest Mother. Thank you.

4. Dearest Mother Mary,

My heart overflows with thanksgiving. I received a call from my doctor that my PET scan was clear on Chinese New Year’s eve. What a beautiful gift of hope and new beginnings. Thank you for praying for me and with me, and for bringing my petitions to your Son, my Saviour, Jesus Christ. His mercy and grace have granted me total healing from the cervical cancer diagnosed in May last year. All glory belongs to Him. Through this trial, I have drawn closer to you and to your Almighty Son. In the midst of fear and uncertainty, you wrapped me in your motherly mantle. My family, too, has grown stronger in faith and love as we weathered this storm together. With a heart full of gratitude, I thank you, my mother. And I praise You, my Lord and my God.

5. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help, I am grateful for these past 8 months. My life was turned upside down when I was retrenched from my job of 21 years.  However, I realized that everything happens for a reason, and everything turned out well, albeit with a different outcome. I got a good package, and I am close to getting another great job. Your Son had answered my petition in another way, which I realized was for the better. I had prayed for a role change in the same organization because of issues with my boss, but I am now even better off with severance and potentially joining a company that values and appreciates me. I just want to share to everyone attending Novena that our Lord Jesus answers our petitions, and HE is always here for us looking after us and blessing us. Just look deeper and you will find the blessings in disguise. Thank you, Mother, for your kind intercession and to your Son Lord Jesus for everything that is happening to my life right now. Amen. Your Catholic Son.

6. Dear Mother Mary,

Two days before Chinese New Year, my daughter had a misunderstanding with us, which escalated into a big quarrel. I later heard from a family member that she would not be seeing us for a few months, and that it would take a miracle for her to visit us on the first day of CNY. I was devastated as this was a bad way to start a new year. My heart was in great turmoil, but I tried to remain calm and kept calling for divine help, holding on to hope in my heart. For the next two days, my husband and I attended Mass, clung on to our rosaries, and prayed earnestly to Mother Mary to intercede for our family. On the eve of Chinese New Year, we received a message from our daughter saying that she and her family would visit us. Through prayer, trust and hope, we experienced Mother Mary’s intercession and our family was reunited. Thank you, Mother Mary, for bringing our daughter back to us.

7. Dear Mama Mary,

I want to thank you for the family and friends you have placed in this season of life. I think this season has by far been one of the most challenging seasons, but it is really because of the people you have surrounded me with was able to receive so much love and reminded me that I am loved. Although that is true is still something I struggle to claim wholeheartedly, the presence of my family and friends who have held the space for me and or shared words of encouragement / wisdom have constantly been reminding me that I can experience love through them. So, thank you Mother Mary for surrounding me with these people.

8. Dearest Mother Mary,

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping my husband’s surgery to be a success. From my husband’s blood test results in early January, his cancer diagnosis in late January, to his surgery in mid-February, you have been there with us, interceding for us in those difficult, stressful weeks. Though it has been turbulent, we have experienced God’s amazing grace in so many ways and through so many people. The cancer has now been removed, and we thank you and your son, our Lord for always watching over us and holding us in your hands.

Love, your Catholic daughter

9. Dearest Mother Mary,

With a grateful heart, thank you for your intercession in helping me get a job. Two years ago, I faced workplace bullying at a job that I loved, and my ex-boss forced me to exit the organization in disgrace. I was heartbroken, dejected and angry. I asked God why did allow this happen to me and how can I ever come out of this mess. Little did I know that God’s timing is always perfect as He knew I was burnt out at work and he also wanted me to spend more time with my aging parents. So for the past 2 years, I took time to care, heal and spend time with loved ones. Earlier this year, I was recommended for a job opportunity and I accepted it. This job is meaningful and I have a wonderful team to work with. Thank you once again for your prayers and God’s blessings.

Your ever grateful Son

10. Dear Mother,

Thank you for keeping my parents healthy and well especially after their recent health issues. Thank you for bringing kind people into our lives – the doctors, the healthcare providers, the caregivers, the nice grab driver, the helpful contractors who rushed the refurbishment of their home, the pest controllers who came swiftly to help us with the situations and the wonderful neighbours who bring joys and love to my parents as they are recovering. I ask for your forgiveness as I admittedly lost my temper with my family many times. I have been under tremendous stress, pressure and work trauma since 2019, and I am trying my very best to improve and heal from my broken heart. Thank you for giving me the gift to help others and I will continue to do so. Thank you for placing me in this job, while it isn’t the idea job, I understand why I am put into this role during this season of my life. Thank you for the work flexibility and the supportive team who work closely with me in this account. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to run the event as I envisaged for my years and thank you for making it a success. Thank you for giving me the strength to accept and show compassion to the manager who has hurt me. I pray that for more time to be that improved daughter for the elderly parents. Please take care of and bless my family, especially my parents. We may not be Catholics but we believe the goodness of all religions and will always do good with kindness. Thank you for your blessing.
