Thanksgiving – 5 November 2022

1. Dear Mother,

We thank you for the gift of new eyesight that has been given to our mother through her successful cataract surgery.

Your Grateful Children.

2. Dear Mother Mary,

After 7 years of praying, my eldest daughter conceived and delivered a healthy beautiful baby girl. Following that, she delivered a boy the next year. Thank you so much for blessing her and her husband after trying for many years to conceive. My second daughter has safely delivered a healthy baby girl as well with your blessings. Thank you once again for always showering your blessings and guidance over my family.

Your Loving Catholic Daughter.

3. Dearest Mother Mary,

A couple of weeks ago I came to your shrine in pain and sorrows. I prayed to you and your Son, I kept questioning why was my life tougher than others especially in my career. I was doing good work but often being overlooked for promotion, being retrenched, being sabotaged by the people at work and close to doing things that might put me behind bars. I was uncomfortable and decided to leave without a job despite my wedding being just the following month. I was worried about our finances and had anxiety of not being able to secure a job because of the downturn in the economy. All praise and glory to you, my dearest Mother, for interceding to your Son. I had 2 very lucrative job offers with good remuneration package from a reputable company immediately after my resignation. Thank you for never leaving me in the lurch despite my endless questions to my challenges faced. Thank you for always answering my prayers and watching over me.

Your Faithful Catholic Daughter.

4. Dearest Mother,

We just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. We thank you for seeing us through the past 30 years of wedded bliss. Thank you, Mother that we were able to celebrate our anniversary with family and friends. During the same time, I had an eye infection and was referred to A&E. To my horror, the doctor discovered that my lenses were stuck to my eyes. It was there for five days and I could have gone blind but fortunately I only sustained scratches in my cornea and my vision was not affected. All praise and glory to God, it was only possible through your love and care for me. I am so grateful and thankful that I have a heavenly Mother. You and your Son, Jesus, have always been there for me in my darkest and lowliest moments.

Your Grateful Children.

5. Dearest Mother Mary,

It is with gratefulness that I am writing this thanksgiving letter on the 8th anniversary of my daughter being cancer free. I thank you for interceding for her healing and please continue to grant her good health. Thank you, Mother for being on this journey of faith with me and for being with me especially during those challenging days of chemotherapy eight years ago in the hospital. I could not have gone through with it if not for you and your intercession for me and my daughter. You gave us strength, courage and faith in our Lord Jesus.

Your Grateful Daughter.

6. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

This is a long awaited thanksgiving letter. I would like to thank you for putting in place God’s plan for me to go through a difficult part of my life. I lost my job in 2018, I have been suffering from a lot of anxiety which affected my confidence and judgement. Things were never the same for me and it was a downward spiral for me. I kept coming to you to help to intercede for me and to stabilise my career. I was the sole bread winner at that time as well. However, in early 2020 before the lock down, I took the leap of faith to apply for a mid-career switch where my studies will be heavily subsidised. It turned out that there was an over subscription of application for just 15 to 20 slots. I thought I would never have made it as most applicants were half my age. Nonetheless, I kept my faith and I kept coming for weekly novenas to ask for your intercession. I was called for an interview and was eventually offered a job and I was selected to undergo 2 years of studies at the university. Balancing work and studies at my age was not easy but with the grace of God and with your prayers, I managed to pull through my exams. Things would not have been possible without your intercession.

Your Child.

7. Dear Mother,

Your Son.

9. Dear Mother,

Our daughter and her family have just returned home to Melbourne after spending 2 weeks of holiday with us. It was wonderful to enjoy the special time with our grand-daughter whom we brought to the Novena Devotion. Thank you for watching over us.

Your Loving Children.

10. Dearest Mother Mary,

Two weeks ago I wrote a petition to you to intercede for me for my medical results. It was a miracle, there were no trace of cancer in the blood tests. Thank you, Mother Mary for looking after me.

Your Catholic Son.

11. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

At my lowest point in life where I suffered a lot of setbacks, I came to your shrine to pray. When I felt like no one would understand me, you did. Everyone around me was worried for me at that point in time and I couldn’t get them to understand me. I found deep love, peace and understanding from you, Mother. Where people judged me, I found understanding and acceptance from you. I want to thank you for my recent marriage to my husband whom you brought to me. Thank you for answering my prayers, for picking me up from my setbacks in life.

Your Grateful Child.

12. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for your intercession and protection. I had a lump in my left cheek for many years and had been procrastinating the removal of it, fearing it would affect my facial appearance and doctor’s advice was that it was a cyst and likely harmless. This year, I felt the lump growing and had a strong nudge in me to seek medical treatment to remove. If the lump was not removed, further growth would have blocked my blood vessels and affected my brain. Thank you, Mother Mary, for prompting me to make the decision. Protecting me from fear and worries. The surgery was a success and I am on the road to recovery.

Your Grateful Daughter.
