Thanksgiving – 4 September 2021

1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Before my triple heart bypass surgery on 27 July, I wrote to you to intercede to the Lord for a successful operation. I am eternally gratefully, Blessed Mother, for your assistance and prayers. The surgery was a success. I am now recuperating at home and will need a few more weeks to recover completely and resume my normal activities. Thank you, Mother, for all that you have done for me and in imploring your Son, to come to my aid.

Your Catholic Son.

2. Dear Mother,

On 23 June 2021 my sister went to remove a growth on the inner corner of her right eye which the doctor diagnosed as 60% cancerous. Thankfully it was benign. Thank you, Mother Mary, and our Lord, Jesus Christ, for your healing. I also thank you that my husband’s colonoscopy result was good and clear without any polyps. My daughter did a scan for her thyroid and it was reported that 2 small abnormal lymph nodes were seen but according to the doctor, she should not be overly concerned. Thank you for all the blessings that you have showered upon my family.

3. Dearest Mother,

This letter is a first for me because I have never written in to ask for your intercession. Today I come to you to both thank you and also with a petition. I moved to USA a long time ago. My parents always reminded me that wherever you are in the world, you must look for a church as a priority. I did and in that parish, I found one of the most wonderful parish priests I have had the honour of knowing. His sermons have brought smiles to my face, brought me enlightenment and most importantly, deepened my faith and understanding in our Lord. Mother, I want to thank you for always knowing what I need and for interceding for me and asking our Lord to send the people I need in my life. The priest has survived triple bypass surgeries and cancer and is now in his twilight years yet he is still so active in our community and says Mass whenever he has the opportunity to do so. However now, he needs you. His cancer has relapsed. He is lifting his sufferings up to you and continues to pray for those who ask him to pray for them. Even in his pain, he manages to emulate your Son. Mother, I ask you to intercede for our priest. Regardless of what our Lord’s plan for him is, I want to thank you and our Lord for making him such a great part in my life.

Your Loving Daughter.

4. Dearest Mother Mary,

For the past few years I have been praying to you, asking you to help my son to find a life partner. Last year, he met a friend and last week, he had his marriage solemnised at the Registrar of Marriage. I am very grateful for you to have my prayers answered.

5. Dear Mother Mary,

For the past one and half years of unemployment, I have been constantly asking for your help to intercede for me to your Son, Jesus, for a suitable job. I want to give thanks for my prayers are answered. Thank you for not giving up on me and my family.

Your Loving Daughter.

6. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for interceding for my daughter. She has given birth to a healthy baby girl. It was through you that everything went well.

Your Grateful Daughter.

7. Dear Mother,

Thank you for taking care of my sister-in-law. She was supposed to board a flight on 2 August but it was cancelled. As she waited at the airport for the next flight 2 hours later, she collapsed at the airport with severe hypoglycemia. As she was in the airport, she was given immediate medical attention and recovered in few days. Dear Mother, thank you for protecting over her. I believe it was your Son’s Divine intervention that cancelled the flight.

Your Daughter.

8. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for looking after my family and me. This morning without caution and thinking I dragged a marble top table in order to put out the laundry to dry. The whole table with the marble top came tumbling down and missed my left foot by inches. It would most probably have crushed my left foot and I would had to be hospitalised for sure. I definitely knew that Jesus and you were looking after me. Thank you so much.

Your Loving Grateful Child.

9. Dear Mother Mary,

I had lost hope as no matter how much I nagged, my daughter was not motivated to work towards her “O” levels. I came to you for help as I was sad and disappointed. You have helped and blessed her to be accepted in the DSA selection. This takes the pressure off. I am so thankful for your blessings on my daughter. Thank you, Mother, for always being there for us.

Your Daughter.

10. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

I would like to thank you for interceding with your Divine Son, Jesus, to heal my daughter of her mental health stress. She is now recovering at home after 4 months in hospital. I would like to thank God for His blessings, mercy and grace for her.

Your Grateful Catholic Son.
