Thanksgiving – 4 May 2024

1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Our baby was born prematurely at 29.5 weeks as my wife was diagnosed with cancer. To date, our baby has spent roughly 83 days in the NeoNatal ICU and HDU. In a few days he will get discharged and be cared for by his godparents during the period of my wife’s cancer treatment. Thank you for looking after him with your motherly love and ensuring that he is always safe! Thank you so much for your intercessions and sending angels in the form of godparents, doctors and nurses to care for him when we couldn’t. Mary, mother of Jesus, please continue to intercede for my wife’s and baby’s health. Thank You, Mother.

Your Loving Son.

2. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you so much for hearing our prayers. My godson, who is 28 years old, had a second occurrence of a rare cancer, and we have been praying for him since the end of July 2023. He has undergone the chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments. Thank you for the good news that he is now in remission and cancer free. Thank you, again, for your intercession, and to our Lord Jesus.

Your Grateful Daughter.

3. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

In the serene and sacred space of the Novena Church, we gather our thoughts and hearts to express our profound gratitude. We start by thanking Jesus for granting us the strength to surrender ourselves to His divine plan. It is through His grace that we find the courage and faith to trust that He will take care of everything. We are deeply grateful for the blessings bestowed upon each member of our family. These gifts, both big and small, are reminders of Jesus’ endless generosity and love. We cherish each other, acknowledging that they are signs of His benevolent presence in our lives. We are also immensely grateful for the good health that our family enjoys. This precious gift enables us to experience life’s joys and challenges, and we do not take it for granted. Thank you, too, for providing us with enough to live, to share, and to be content. In a world of uncertainty, the assurance of our basic needs being met is a source of great comfort and peace. Finally, we express our gratitude for all those things known and unknown to us. Our lives are filled with countless blessings, some visible and others unseen, and we are thankful for each one. May your loving presence be a constant reminder of the love Jesus has for each one of us, and may we always be aware of the many ways He works in our life. With hearts full of thanks, Mother.

4. Dear Mother Mary,

2 years ago my daughter was devastated after her miscarriage. I came to you and sought your intercession to our Lord to bring comfort to my daughter and bless her with another child. My prayers were answered as my daughter gave birth to a healthy baby boy last week. I thank and praise God for his wonderful blessing. Mother Mary, I thank you from the bottom of my heart, for the comfort and assurance that you are always with me in good times and in bad. Thank you, Mother.

Your Loving Daughter.

5. Dearest Mother Mary,

I thank God for blessing me with such a wonderful Aunty, who has been taking great care of me during and after the period of my chemotherapy. I also, thank God for blessing me with a super supportive husband, and three filial children, who all took great care of me when I was sick. Thank You, Mother, for all your love and support.

Your Daughter.

6. Dear Mother,

For 7 years, I prayed to you and your son Jesus, that my husband would overcome the fear of having children of his own. This fear materialised after we got married due to many complex reasons, and was so crippling that he did not know if he would ever want children. I was devastated. I could not help him tackle his fear, no matter how I tried. We prayed together, came to the novena together, went for daily mass together, searching for divine guidance on how to tackle this problem. The hardest thing is to change someone’s mind which has been set, and for those years, I was filled with confusion, despair, desperation, anger and ultimately, immense sadness and resignation. Countless times, I came to you for comfort and consolation. In the most difficult moments, I clung on to you and Jesus as I could find no solution. Because I loved my husband deeply and I made a sacred vow of marriage, I painfully let go of the thought of having children of our own. By some miracle, however, my husband told me last year that he was ready to start a family, and was praying for courage. I conceived naturally, and 3 weeks ago, we welcomed a beautiful and healthy baby girl. I witnessed my husband’s transformation from being a fearful person to becoming a devoted husband and father. My husband’s conversion and our miracle girl are possible only because of your unceasing prayers to Jesus. I’m eternally grateful to you, Mother, for being with me in my darkest days of doubt and anxiety. Thank you, Mother!

7. Dearest Mother Mary,

I write with a heart full of gratitude for your intercession to your Son, our Lord Jesus. Last November and December, my son was implicated in a legal matter in another country and could not return as his passport was withheld. I was in distress and turned to you and our Lord for help. We encountered a lot of problems, but you, Mother, were with us throughout our challenging times. On 28th December 2023, he was finally acquitted. We lost a lot of money in the process, but the Lord provided us with what was needed and I believe it all happened for a reason. Once again, thank you, dearest Mother, for showing us your motherly care and for being with us during those trying times. Thank You, Mother.
