Thanksgiving – 3 Nov 2018

1. Dearest Mother Mary,

I thank you with all my heart for all the answered prayers through your intercession. Words can never fully express how eternally grateful I am. I first came to your Shrine 20 years ago and I remember I was having a rough patch with my then boyfriend, now husband. I remember praying for your intercession about the direction of the relationship and am very thankfully things were resolved. My husband and I have since been married for 15 years. My husband and I are like chalk and cheese. The holding pieces for us are our love for one another and God’s love. Though at some points in our marriage, I almost wanted to call it quits, not because of any infidelity issues, but I just felt that I could no longer communicate with him as he always thinks he is right and I am also very stubborn and rebellious. I am thankful to God, we survived and now love each other more. Along my marriage journey I would come to your Shrine for Novena Services but was never regular. It was only 3 years ago, it became more regular as I was praying for my eldest’s child’s PSLE. I also came regularly when I was pregnant with my youngest child. I remember vividly coming to your Shrine for your intercession to protect my unborn child as I had suffered 2 miscarriages before. My 3^rd child was born healthily and he is a great joy in our lives. 2 months ago, my husband and I had to make some big financial decisions. We have been coming to your Shrine very regularly for Mass and I had also written a petition letter. Mother Mary, it was through your intercession and God’s divine intervention that everything fitted in for us and our family. This week is the 9^th Novena since I wrote the petition letter and all our prayers and worries have been answered.

It was then I also decided to give up gambling. I was addicted to buying numbers for the past 10 years after striking the 1^st prize. Those 10 years were hell as I would be thinking of numbers every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Life is really hell when one is addicted to gambling. I spent so much money on it till I have little savings left. I am thankful that my husband did not give up on me as he hates gamblers. His father was a heavy gambler. Today, I am free from my addiction and Mother Mary, it was all thanks to you.

I never realised the power of Novena Services till I missed it. I was never a positive person but since going to the Novena regularly, I feel more positive and energised and on weeks I miss it, I will just feel something amiss. Thank you once again, Mother Mary for all your intercession.

2. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I would like to thank you with all my heart for granting my petitions and answering my prayer with regards to my PR application. It was a long wait and I almost lost hope that my application would be approved. I prayed every day and came to your Novena a number of times with my petitions. After almost 7 months of waiting, my prayers were answered and I was granted my PR status here. Thank you for helping me to not lose hope and for keeping my faith going despite the long wait. Thank you for always helping me believe that God can make the impossible possible. It was a long journey but worthwhile at the end because I continued to keep my faith in you. Thank you, dearest Mother.

3. Dearest Mother,

Thank you for bringing me back safely from Brunei. Even though it was a painful experience, it was one that I have learnt a lot from. Please grant me the strength and wisdom to go again and succeed the next time.

4. Dear Mother Mary,

36 years ago, I came to you for your intercession for my 1^st pregnancy. Many thanks to you that I had a safe delivery. My son is 36 years old now and is a very filial son. I cannot thank you enough for your loving care.

Now my son’s wife is pregnant with their 1^st baby. She is 15 weeks pregnant. As she is 36 years old and has a thyroid condition, I come to you again, Mother, for a safe delivery.

5. Dearest Mother,

Thank you for interceding for me to your Son, Jesus. A few weeks ago, I came to you to help me find a new job and last week, I received a job offer. This would not have been possible without your intercession.

6. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Millions of thanks for all the countless blessings you have bestowed on me all these years. For 18 years, I have been praying for your intercession for a happy, peaceful, fruitful and blessed marriage for me. Although it took 18 years, it finally happened. In these turmoil-filled stormy years, I have gotten closer to you and your Son, my Lord. You have never lost me in the crowd. You have never forsaken me or turned your face away from me whenever I come before your Shrine with tears. I have forgotten all the painful years as I am reaping the goodness of God now. Till this very moment, you have never stopped interceding for my family. I love you mother. Thanking you is never enough.

7. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for your intercession and your love for a friend. Thank you for asking your Son, Jesus, to take control of the nodules in her breast. It is nothing short of a miracle that when she went for her check-up in July that she was told many of the nodules had disappeared or shrunk. Even her gynaecologist was pleased and told her to continue with her vegan diet. Thank you once again, loving Mother.

8. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you so much for your blessings, graces and protection over these years for me and my family. When my parents abandoned me, it was you who chose a suitable partner for me and gave me 2 beautiful children when I had difficulty conceiving.
