Thanksgiving – 3 Mar 2018

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

I came before your shrine some time ago to pray for my mother who was diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer. I fervently placed my mother in your hands. Thank you for interceding for me. My prayers were answered. My mother’s surgery went smoothly and she is now totally cleared of cancer without even the need for any treatment. Thank you and Jesus from the bottom of my heart.

  1. Thank you so much for praying for me holy Mother Mary. Yesterday was a stressful day for me with 3 presentations but with your prayers I survived pretty ok. Thanks so much for coming to my aid just when I needed it most and I have learnt so much just by praying to you and believing that Jesus will send his Holy Spirit to guide me every step. It’s only with God’s saving grace and help that I am able to pull through. Thank you Mother Mary and I love you.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Words cannot describe how thankful I am towards your care for me during my entire life. I am 64 years old and am still working. I have been working in various provinces in China for the past 12 years and each time I go to a new province, my first and only important prayer is to have a Catholic Church in the location where I work. Although in some locations, I had to drive 2 hours just to attend Mass, I was happy to be able to do so. Sometimes, priests were not available and we had to just say the rosary. I always envy my fellow Singaporeans who have so many Churches to go to and with so many Masses to attend. Please Mother Mary, continue to pray for me and protect me from all kinds of danger and evil temptations.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

Few months ago, I wrote a petition to your shrine and prayed so that I could recover from a lump in my thyroid. Even the medical doctor said there was no cure for it. Last week, I noticed that the lump had subsided without any medication. I am really thankful for this Miracle and thank you for answering my prayer. Please continue to pray for me and my family.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

I have waited a long time for this day and finally it came. I received the 1st ever “Ang Bao” from my son. To me it means that he has grown up and is now working. Although he occasionally chipped in with the household expenses, he has now taken over paying some of the bills. The sweetest action was when he also gave my mother, his grandmother, and brother “Ang Baos” although he is not required according to the tradition. Thank you Mother. Moments like these make me feel that I have done a good job in raising them. Thank you Mother Dearest, from the bottom of my heart.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for all that you have done. I am now very happy that I have gotten into my dream school, Saint Joseph’s Institution. I know that it’s only through your help and prayers. I am also thankful for all the good teachers and friends you have given to me and the good spirituality in the school. I am also very glad that I am able to pray to you in school during weekly Novena Services and the Legion of Mary meetings, as well as during the weekly Masses and daily morning prayers. I thank you for giving me a principle who is a priest and a full time Friar in school as well as a Brother to guide me in my faith journey and education. I also thank you for my parents who were with me as I went through the process of getting into SJI. Dearest Mother, please help me to do well and grow closer to you.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

My family would like to thank you for your many blessings you have given to us especially when we most needed your guidance and intercession. Just a week before Christmas in 2017, my father had a heart attack and the ER at the hospital performed a heart stent on him. As he is a chain smoker, several doctors and the specialist counselled him to give up smoking. However, he refused to heed their advice. Upon discharge, he continued to smoke and suffered with complications related to pneumonia and bronchitis and had to be hospitalised again a week before Chinese New Year. During the times when my father was sick, my mother had to shuttle between home and hospital to care for him. As a result, it tired her a lot. However, we are grateful for your guidance. My father has been discharged and is resting at home with the aid of an oxygen tank to help him breathe better. Dearest Mother Mary, please continue to bless my parents. Thank you Mother Mary. Lots of Love

Your Loving Family.

  1. Dearest Mother,

Thank you for your blessings that our family had an enjoyable reunion dinner and for the gatherings with our relatives. Thank you that my husband was able to have the energy and strength to be able to enjoy the meals and gatherings. Mother, please continue to pray for him that he will get better each day. I know he likes to spend more time with our grandson. Mother, please continue to pray for him that our Lord will bless him. Thank you.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

You know I carry the Rosary in my pocket and recite it everyday without fail. However, 7 days ago, I lost the Rosary. I prayed to you to help me find it. Yesterday, at the lift lobby of my office, something made me turn my head and there I found my Rosary hanging inside the Security notice-board. For so many years, I never once looked at this notice-board. Thank you Mother Mary, for returning me this precious Rosary.

  1. Dearest Mother,

Thank you for the many blessing you’ve showered on me and my family. 2016/2017 had been a real rough patch for me in my real estate career and it took my focus away. However, through your constant intercession, I finally made a big break through this month which compensated for the past 2 years. My family and I are very grateful to you and the Lord. Thank you very much Mother.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

On 14 Feb 2018, as I was driving my grandchildren back from the pre-school, I suddenly felt drowsy and short of breath. We were less than a kilometre from my house and I prayed for God’s grace and your intercession to get us all home safely. When I got home I still did not realize that it was the onset of a heart attack I took it as over exhaustion from all the spring cleaning activities in preparation for the Lunar New Year.

Later that evening, my family had a reunion dinner but by then I had no appetite and I was unable to keep down what I had eaten. My daughter saw the paleness in my face and suggested that I go to the hospital. I went to the Accident & Emergency at the Singapore General Hospital and was diagnosed as having a minor heart attack, and was hospitalised. Early next morning, I felt a sudden severe pain in my chest and could not breathe well and was feeling faint.

Luckily, the cardiologist and her team were on their rounds in the ward and the nurse alerted them to my condition. They came over right away. Reviewing my condition, she sent me straight to the operating theatre. The doctors found two blockages and immediately inserted a stent into one which was 100% blocked. I am scheduled to undergo a 2nd stent insertion, to clear the other blockage on 8th March 2018.

Mother, I know that it is through your intercession that am still alive today and so are my grandchildren. I cannot imagine what would have happened if I had collapsed whilst driving or was late in getting to the hospital. Thank you dearest Mother.

Your Ever-Grateful Catholic Son.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I am writing this Thanksgiving Letter to say a big “Thank You”for your prayers and intercession for my daughter’s GCE ‘A’ Level results. Despite the many tears shed after a number of exams, she managed to score all As and a B. I am really really thankful for your prayers and intercession during the preparation period and during the exams itself, and for the good results. No amount of “Thank Yous” can express my deepest gratitude for your prayers and intercession. Thank you Mother of Perpetual Help.

Your Grateful Daughter.
