Thanksgiving – 27 Oct 2018

  1. Dearest Ma Ma Mary,

Very sorry this is long overdue, I have been coming to you week after week to pray for my friend who had very brutal cancer and was given 6 months to live. She was undergoing chemo for 18 months. As the last pep scan was 2 weeks ago, she was very nervous. I came to you and asked that it will be an encouraging outcome and it turned out to be so. Thank you so much, Mother, for your prayer and please continue to intercede and lead her to Novena Church.

Your Catholic Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

We would like to thank you for a smooth wedding. We pray that you will continue to bless and guide us in our married life, to love each other more each day, to be stable financially and to live a good family life till our last day.

Your Loving Children.

  1. Dearest Mother,

I want to give thanks for my friends in Church who support me. May we grow together as a cell group to spread God’s name. I am also thankful that my parents are beginning to accept Jesus into their life and support me going to Church.

Your Daughter.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

This thanksgiving has been long overdue. Nevertheless, I would like to thank you for always interceding for us in our time of need. Ever since we arrived here in Singapore in 2007, we have been coming to the novena every Saturday and you never failed to intercede for us. Last May, I ended my contract with my previous employer and I was again facing uncertainty in finding a new job. I just kept coming to the novena and always kept in mind the Prayer of Confidence. You always prove to us that anyone who comes to you and prays for your intercession will never be left unaided. After 3 weeks, I was able to secure a new job. We thank you for all your help!

Your Loving Son.

  1. Dearest Mother,

We deeply grateful for your intercession. Our son and daughter in law had their first baby boy on 11 October 2018, after almost five years of marriage and anxious waiting. The mother and new born baby are born healthy and happy. Over many Saturdays, we came to pray the Novena to you and to ask for your intercession and we are humbled and deeply touched by your love for us.

Your Children.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for praying for my parents for their good health and for peace in their marriage.

Your Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you so much for your wonderful help. Last week, I asked you to intercede for me to pass my driving test. With your Son’s help, I managed to pass my test at the first attempt. Thank you, Mother, for protecting and saving me and my family. I am sure that you are always there in our midst. Thank you for looking after us. I feel so relieved when I look into your loving and caring eyes.

Your Loving Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

I grew up with parents who were always fighting. Mum was insecure yet had a sharp tongue. Dad was a narcissist and had a roving eye. Both had bad tempers. There was never enough money as dad used it on his vices and mum used it to make sure dad did not have enough money to spend on his vices. I grew up fast and gave up further studies to work and pay for the needs of the family of 4. From then on, it became my job to provide for the family. I was angry.

I got married at 41. I thought that I could finally have someone I could lean on. Unfortunately, my former husband was needy like the family I was born into. I became even more angry and we divorced.

I hated my parents. They had cultivated in me an inclination to take care of everyone who asked for help. They just had to press that button. I gave and gave, I used to beat myself up if I was not able to meet people’s expectations.

I got angry easily. I made friends easily and I lost friends equally as easily. I hated my life. A few years ago after my divorce, I sought your intercession. I found peace and solace when I recited the Holy Rosary. It has developed into a nightly habit – reaching out for the Holy Rosary and saying my prayers before I fall asleep peacefully.

I continue to look after my parents but I have learnt to say no. I no longer beat myself up when I don’t meet people’s expectations. I am less angry now and I like myself better now. I am at peace now because of your intercession and prayers. Because you love me, I am learning to love myself. I say this every night and I will say it again.

Your Grateful Daughter.
