Thanksgiving – 26 Oct 2019

  1. Dearest Mother,

I would like to give thanks for your unending love and protection over me and my family. Back in 2017, we were blessed with a beautiful little girl. Through the years, trials and illnesses, God has shown to be faithful when we stay close to Him. We know you have been interceding for us, too. Back then, when she was just 6 weeks old, I was diagnosed with a rare cancer and lost sight in my right eye. We visited you weekly and asked for your prayers and comfort daily. In June 2019, our family made a trip to Lourdes to give thanks at your Shrine. We woke up early to go for the bath as it has proven to have healing. I went for the bath with my daughter. The sister told me to tell Mother what I really want. I remembered shivering in the cold and whispering: “I want to be a mother again, Mother Mary.” At that time, my husband and I were open to more children but were afraid to actively try as we were scarred by the cancer post-delivery just 2 years before. I did not tell my husband about my request nor did I share it with anyone. We went on with our holiday and had a wonderful time together. When we got back in July, we found out that I was expecting. I was already 8 weeks pregnant and had no idea. I told my husband about my request at the bath. We were so sure it was due to your intercession, Mother. Today I am 21 weeks pregnant with a healthy and growing baby boy. We could not be more thankful.

Your Grateful Daughter.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

Thank you for finding my son a job in the government sector after 7 months since his graduation. Though times are uncertain, you still did not fail to help him to get a stable and secure job with an understanding superior and helpful colleagues. I fully understood that it is through your continual and kind intercession that made it possible. Once again, thank you Mother.

Your Catholic Son.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for whispering to Jesus the prayer in my heart for my 10-year-old nephew. When he visited me here in Singapore last August, he was far from the lovable, sweet, and clever little boy I knew. After not having seen him for a long time, I noticed how he has become lazy, disrespectful, thoughtless and unmotivated. He did not want to interact with people despite my efforts to get him interested with other things, all he was ever interested in was playing video games which I know was not always good for him. We did not know what to do with him. But, like always, you and Jesus did. It was truly a blessing in disguise that he was transferred to a Catholic school and to a new learning environment. We could hardly believe the change in his attitude, behaviour and temperament. He became more responsible, more thoughtful and helpful towards others and he became even more prayerful, visiting the chapel by himself and without being told to pray during their break time. Thank you for leading us to a good school. Truly, you saw through our hearts and answered our needs even without us articulating them into words. For this and for other favours and blessings you have interceded for us without our knowing, we are ever grateful.

Your Catholic Daughter.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

In this October, the month of the Rosary, we would like to thank you for all your guidance, prayers and intercession all this time.

Your Loving Children.

  1. Dear Mother,

Thank you for answering my prayer. Through your intercession to Jesus, my wife has been cured of her hyperthyroidism. Mother, you have never failed me whenever I needed your help.

Your Loving and Grateful Son.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

I thank you very much for your support and help. I started coming to the Novena two months ago. My husband had a very bad time in his job. He was trying for a new job but there was no response from anywhere. As soon as I started the Novena, the very first week he got a call for an interview and today after all the formalities, his application for the new job is approved. I love you Mother, for being with us always.

Your Loving Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

I would like to say thank you for praying and interceding on behalf of my beloved uncle who was diagnosed with advanced stage 4 cancer in September 2019. We prayed that God will look after him and God took him home on 7th October 2019 with his loved ones around him and with no pain and no tubes in his throat or needles in his hands. He went peacefully. He is in a better place with no pain and suffering.

Your Catholic Son.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I will soon turn 60. This thanksgiving letter is at least 50 years overdue! I got to know you when I was a little girl of maybe 6 years old. The only memory I have was of my late mother and her elder sister holding my hands walking into the old Novena Church to pray to you. They were both Taoists. My parents were divorced when I was 5 and I grew up under the care of my mum’s god-parents. Growing up I only knew Novena Church and I only wanted to be a Catholic, but I was only baptized 6 years ago. I had a sad messy adulthood. My mother passed away when I was in my twenties. I was left alone but I survived all the storms and near-death experiences in my life because you are always with me watching and protecting me. I had been through an abusive marriage and was disfigured. Those were the darkest moments of my life but God blessed me with 2 beautiful girls. They too are mothers themselves now, but they are not close to me as they will never understand why I had to make some difficult decisions. You know that if I did not harden my heart and let go, we will not be alive today. I don’t blame them and I have surrendered all my sorrows and pain to your Son, my Lord Jesus. I pray for a complete reconciliation with them some day. My dearest Mother Mary, I can never thank you enough for interceding for me and words alone cannot express how grateful I am for all the angels God has sent to guide me and love me. You know my heart. Thank you for always praying with me and thank you for loving me. I love you Mother.
