Thanksgiving – 22 Sep 2018

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for your kind intercession throughout the last few years. My child was only a few months old when I discovered my husband was having an extra marital affair. I knelt before you and asked you to show me the way as I was badly shaken and confused. Thankfully, my friends and family members supported me and it took me a lot of courage to file for a divorce as my then husband was not repentant. Today, 4 years later, I have moved on in my life with my child.

Your Non-Catholic Child.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for relieving us from the financial burden. We managed to sell our home to repay the debt. We want to thank you for opening our eyes to our sister’s needs and for enlightening my dad’s way of life.

Your Loving Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

My heart is filled with gratitude and joy as I pen this thanksgiving letter. Few months back, I implored your help to secure my promotion in my current job. Today, as I woke up to get ready for Mass in honour of The Nativity of The Blessed Virgin Mary, I received an email telling me that I was successful in my promotion. Words cannot describe the joy and elation. My family has prayed so hard for me especially my wife. The fear of seeing disappointment in their faces were more than anything else. I am thankful to be gainfully employed and being given chances to prove myself at work.

Your Grateful Son.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

I am writing this letter to express my gratitude for your grace and protection. My daughter, son-in-law and his parents were travelling home to Singapore on 11 September after visiting some relatives in Johor. She was driving leisurely along the highway when she suddenly felt the vehicle veering to the left although the road was straight. It went out of control and crashed through the roadside barrier, somersaulted and landed in a drain. The car was wrecked but miraculously they sustained only slight injuries, bruises and a dislocation to the jawbone. Dear Mother, I know that it is through your Motherly protection and intercession to our Lord Jesus, for His Divine protection that all of them escaped serious injury. My heartfelt thanks to you, dear Mother Mary and Jesus.

Your Loving Son.

  1. Dearest Mother,

This thanksgiving letter is 3 months overdue and I am truly sorry for not sending it earlier. I want to thank you for your intercession for me and my fellow partners in helping us to sell our property that was jointly owned. The loan instalments of property were costing us more and more each month and the market value of the property had dropped. Hence, we were desperate to sell it off quickly but could not as the offers that came in were way too low. I offered up our intentions to sell our property with minimum losses and after 6 months of praying for your intercessions, we managed to sell our property to a reasonable buyer. Thank you, Mother, for it could not have happened at a better time as it freed us from the loan obligations. It is a miracle as our property was competing with hundreds of similar units in the same location. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you Mother.

Your Ever-Grateful Son.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I want to shout out a big thank you to you, Mother. 29 years ago, my mum was very sick in Tan Tock Seng Hospital. It was a Saturday afternoon after visiting my mum that I stepped into Novena Church and knelt in front of your Icon and looked into your peaceful face. Thinking back now, people around me could have witnessed me sobbing. After the novena devotion, a woman next to me turned round and said that she had a strong feeling to give me something and she passed me a piece of paper. It was a guide on how to pray the rosary. I prayed seriously for my sick mother. Days later, she woke up from her coma and told me she dreamt of a beautiful woman. I had pasted your picture above her head, I took it down from the wall and my mum confirmed it was the same image. It was not possible for her to know the picture, much less seen the image. My mum’s life was extended for a year to see me get married and give birth to my baby. Being the only unmarried child, my mum’s desire was to see me settle down. I truly believe that through your intercession, Mother Mary, God granted my mum’s final wish. My mum miraculously became strong enough to care for my baby and me during my confinement. Mother Mary, you helped my mum fulfil her last wish and also blessed my prematured baby with good health. I am ever grateful to you for your intercession.

Your Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for your powerful intercession as I started this special Novena on being “Called to Love”, I experienced the need to forgive and not hold on to resentment. I was also praying for a job and now you have blessed me with one at a Catholic School. I cannot thank you enough for bringing me back to Singapore after living overseas for 15 years. All those times, you never failed to watch over me and kept me from harm.

Your Grateful Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

I am so grateful to have known you. I was brought to the Novena Church by my Buddhist mother when I was in Primary Four. Praying for good results for my exams. Since then I have never turned my back on you. I was baptized when I was in my 20s. After being baptized, I got married in Church and brought up my children in the Catholic Faith and also encouraged my Catholic husband to attend Mass together. He had stopped attending Church for more than 10 years. Now, my husband and I attend the Novena Devotions regularly together. We are both getting old, and looking back I have so much to be grateful and thankful to you for never abandoning me in so many difficult times. Thank you, dearest Mother, for the family, friends and everything that I have.

Your Catholic Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

I would like to thank you for blessing me on my way here to Singapore. I know that throughout my journey, you were with me. I cannot thank you enough for granting my desire.

Your Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

I am sorry for taking so long to thank you for the many blessings and graces you have showered on my family and me. You were with me, guiding me and protecting my family from the day I got married until today. You guided me to my second home and made everything possible for us to purchase the flat and even made it possible for us to renovate our home when we needed money. You and your Son, Jesus, are always with us even when my son was involved in a motorbike accident, He could have died but you protected him. It was truly a miracle. There are many incidents in my son’s and daughter’s lives where things unfolded beautifully and I can testify to that. You, Mother and your Son, have always been present in our lives. You, Mother and your Son, Jesus, gave me comfort, strength and peace when I turned to you for help. I am forever grateful to you. Thank you also for drawing my daughter closer to me.

Your Grateful Daughter.
