Thanksgiving – 22 Dec 2018

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

I forgot to padlock my house before I went to bed last night and I only found out about it this morning. Thank you for keeping our family safe during the night.

Your Thankful Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

This morning I wrote a petition asking you to intercede and pray for me to help find my lost wallet. I just got a call from Comfort that the driver has returned my wallet. Thank you, Mother.

Your Loving Son.

  1. Dearest Mother,

I came to your shrine at the Novena Church to pray for a safe journey on our recent family holiday trip to Europe. With grateful thanks to your intercession, we are back home safe and sound, though we had a fright of our lives midway through our vacation. It was in the town of Split in Croatia where things could have gone awfully wrong for us. While we were unloading our luggage from our vehicle, my son and I heard a loud bang and a shout from my wife. I could not see what was happening and was terrified to the point that my legs were trembling and my heart was beating rapidly. I began to pray with my eyes lifted towards the sky and calling out silently for divine help. Then I saw my wife coming out from the side of the car apparently in shock while my daughter was still inside the car with my 22-month old grandson. It was a huge relief to see them safe and well. A car had hit the door of our vehicle just after my wife had got down and stepped aside to wait for my daughter to come out. It was a miracle no one was injured though the door was badly damaged. We had to curtail our journey and skip our next stop as we did not want to take further risks with a damaged door that could not be locked safely. We decided to take the shortest route through Bosnia for our flight back to Singapore. It was a decision we did not regret as it led us to the town of Medjugore in Bosnia where we were pleasantly surprised to see many pilgrims at your shrine praying the Hail Mary and singing Ave Maria in a foreign language. It warmed our hearts to know that you were there with us despite thousands of kilometres away from home. Thank you, Mother and your Son, Jesus, for watching over us and guiding us safely home.

Your Ever-Grateful Catholic Son.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

Thank you for inspiring me and my beloved to say the right things to each other. Our conversation went well and we understood each other better. Our relationship may not be saved overnight but there is hope. Thank you for praying for us. Please continue to intercede for our conversation of hearts and may my beloved come to accept your Son, Jesus.

Your Loving Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

Thank you very much for your prayers. My wife’s mammogram results are normal. We cannot thank you enough Mother, for your prayers to our Lord for my wife. My son has also returned home safely from his recent business trip to Vietnam. Thank you once again for taking care of him.

Your Loving Son.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for the 20 wonderful years you have given me with my husband through your prayers. I still remembered praying to you to save my marriage about 15 years ago. Through all our ups and downs, you have been with us. Please continue to watch over our marriage. I consecrate my marriage and family to you, dearest Mother. Thank you for everything.

Your Ever-Grateful Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I want to thank you for interceding for my request to gain employment. I was unemployed for 11 months and had no income during that time. I survived on my little savings and kept on taking personal loans. As a result, my debts piled up and no income was in sight. During this time, I was also going through a divorce proceeding. The expression, “it never rains but it pours” really described my situation. Difficulties came all at once and I nearly had a mental and emotional break down. Needless to say, I suffered insomnia and frequent anxiety attacks. But I kept on praying and coming to you with my petition to find a job and be strong enough to accept whatever God’s plans are for me. Finally, after sending out probably around 200 job applications I secured a job with a salary increment which started recently on the 3rd December. Mother, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your constant intercession for me. Not just for getting the job and hence the income, but more importantly gaining a much stronger faith after going through all my trials. Mother, you and your Son know what I’ve been through the last 5 years of my life. Essentially it was during my darkest moments when I was struggling that I could feel your Son gently putting His arms on my shoulders looking into my eyes and telling me, “I’ve got you!” Thank you, Mother and your Son for always watching over me.

Your Catholic Son.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

As I stand at your shrine today and as the year is coming to an end. It’s a season of joy that’s coming on next. I would like to thank you for watching over me and all my loved ones. Thank you for blessing us with the many things we have received in life, good health, safety to continue living each day and waking up at peace with ourselves. We can’t say enough thanks to you for all you have done, even though I may be your non-Catholic daughter but thank you for accepting us of a different faith at your shrine.

Your Non-Catholic Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Last week I was suffering from a severe headache for many days. It was unrelenting even with the strong painkillers. It was interfering with my job. I dragged myself to Novena Church yesterday and attended the evening Mass. By the end of the Mass, my headache had disappeared. Thank you, Mother, though this may sound trivial, it means a lot to me as I am here alone away from my family and these small gestures mean a lot to me.

Your Loving Son.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I am writing to thank you for interceding in my prayer for my brother-in-law. The doctors originally told him that they may have to cut a quarter of his lung away if the tissues tested were cancerous. And, it was supposed to be an open chest operation. Last Monday, I came to your Shrine praying that his condition will not be so serious. He was operated on last Friday, and to our pleasant surprise, on that day, the doctors only needed to make 4 key-hole incisions instead of a long cut on his chest. And, also, the lung biopsy showed that it was not cancerous. Dearest Mother, thank you for your intercession and thank you, Lord, for answering my prayer.

Your Ever-Loving Son.
