Thanksgiving – 21 September 2024

1. Dearest Mother,

I asked for your intercession that my son’s scholarship application would be successful. He was granted the scholarship at the highest tier, which comes with an annual allowance and no bond. Thank you, Mother, for watching over us and thank you, Lord, for answering our prayers!

Your Daughter.

2. Dear Mother,

I want to thank you for your intercession in helping us find a nursing home for my brother. He is getting old and is unable to walk without assistance. We prayed that he would agree to go to a nursing home, in order for him to have better care than what we could give him at home. We were surprised that he agreed to give it a try. He moved to the community hospital and is now allocated a place in the nursing home. The home is near to our family and we can visit him regularly. We praise the Lord for answering our prayers and thank you, Mother Mary, for your intercession.

Your Son.

3. Dearest Mother,

I was praying at the novena during a tension-filled time at home. My relationship with my daughter was very strained and we couldn’t talk anymore without getting into an argument. I came praying for your help and intercession, as I felt helpless. When I got home, things were still difficult but my daughter needed my help for something. I took the chance to embrace her and tell her I love her. It melted away all the tension and stress. Thank you, dear Lord and Mother, for always looking out for our family. Thank you for teaching me to put aside my pride. With gratitude and thanksgiving.

Your Daughter.

4. My Dearest Mother Mary,

I am writing to thank you that as my internet was working, I was able to watch the Annual Novena Procession online. I was spiritually united to all at Novena Church. Thank you too that I was able to complete the nine weeks in preparation for the Annual Procession. I missed the first week as my internet was down, but I prayed the Novena prayers by myself. I thank God for the Redemptorist Congregation for being a beacon of hope and life to all people the world over. Thank you, Mother.

Your Grateful Son.

5. Dearest Mother Of Perpetual Help,

Thank you and your Son Jesus for blessing and keeping our family safe all these years. As we celebrated our 29th Wedding Anniversary on 8th September, we recall your blessed nativity on which day we were married in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary! We pray for your continued guidance and protection as we journey into our silver years. We’d like to dedicate the rest of our years to the service of your Son Jesus! We pray for the grace to discern and answer God’s calling.

Your Faithful Son & Daughter.

6. Dear Mother Mary,

I would like to offer my heartfelt gratitude for interceding to your Son Jesus for my wife, who was able to transfer to another department as her current workplace is rather toxic and caused her to be stressed and unmotivated. Moreover, there was an obstacle blocking the transfer. Within a few days of praying at your shrine, the process for the transfer went so smoothly and was successful to the surprise of many. Thank you, Mother Mary, for making this possible.

Your Ever-Grateful Son.

7. Dear Mother Mary,

I would like to thank you for your intercession. I am grateful that my father did not suffer any pain despite suffering from cancer. I came to your shrine almost every week for the last three years. Doctors had said that there was no treatment for him given his age. My father passed away peacefully at the age of 94, after seeing all family and friends at the hospital. Throughout the last three years, he did not complain, even in his last days. I know it was our Lord looking over him and giving him comfort during the last phase of his life, although my father is not a Catholic. Once again, thank you for your love.

Your Catholic Daughter.

8. Dear Mother Mary,

Thank you for your mercy and graciousness in leading my mother to her baptism at the age of 86. In caring for my Buddhist father through his last years, she postponed her decision to be baptised out of respect for my father and to maintain harmony in the family. After my father’s death last year, my mother was diagnosed with colon cancer. She underwent an operation and chemotherapy. Through this turmoil, she decided to turn to Jesus Christ for peace. Mother Mary, you played a significant role in connecting her to the Catholic faith. Watching the novena online, she connected with the petition and thanksgiving letters and the hymns. My wife and I are thankful to the Mandarin RCIA at Risen Christ Church. They came to our home to give her catechism. I pray that you and your Son will continue to give her strength in coping with the challenges of her illness.

Your Son and Daughter.
