Thanksgiving – 20 May 2023

1. Our Mother of Perpetual Help,

14 years ago, I remember visiting and praying to you in the Church in Baclaran before leaving my life behind in the Philippines. I would like to say thank you for constantly interceding for me and my family for those years I spent abroad. I completed my studies with a First Class Honours in Business Management, despite the studies being a constant struggle for me. The Lord also blessed me with a great job to start my career journey, with a company that had caring people. I also became a regional youth leader for a Catholic youth group. Lastly, I have been blessed with a partner who is caring, responsible and belongs to a great family. My life in past 14 years, especially the first few years abroad, was tough and there were full of setbacks and struggles, but your love and prayers have enabled me to carry these crosses and live a life in faith. Thank you for guiding me in experiencing God’s amazing plan in my life.

Your Loving Son.

2. Dearest Mother Mary,

Over the past few years, I have been longing and searching for the right time and opportunity to change my career path. After several years of facing huge losses and pains in my life, I never lost sight of your love and intercessory help for me and my family. Just this recent week, after going through two rounds of interviews with an established company – I was given an offer and I knew it was through your unwavering love, mercy and grace that this opportunity finally came to me! I thank you dearest Mother for this wonderful blessing!

Your Loving Daughter.

3. Dear Mother,

I would like to give thanks for the abundance of joy that you have given us. In 2018, I came here and prayed for a child and also a home. The year before, I had a miscarriage and was deeply upset. In 2019 I was blessed with a baby boy and moved into my new home. Thank you, Mother for your powerful intercession. I was not able to come back here to give thanks due to covid but this month May 2023, I brought my son to this very church to show my gratitude to your Son Jesus and you Mother. I am from Malaysia and once again I thank you for all the blessings you have given me.

4. My dearest Mother, this is a long overdue thanksgiving letter. In the year 2018 during the Annual Novena Procession, I was healed from a sickness and also from negative elements which were with me for many years. I longer suffer from Anaemia and chest pains. Because of your love, my Mother, I know now how much God loves me and takes care of me. Thank you, Mother for pointing me to a church ministry. I found purpose in life especially in the Eucharistic Celebration which is very meaningful to me. Thank you, dear Mother for bringing me to be with the beautiful and wonderful brothers and sisters. Together, we serve our Lord God with all our mind, heart and soul.

Your Loving Daughter.

5. Blessed Mother,

My wife, my daughter and I would like to thank you with all our hearts for granting our daughter her Citizenship after years of being Stateless. My wife and I visited the grotto in December 2022, pleading for your intercession for her application to be approved, and in Feb of 2023, we received the happy news from the government. We thank you dear Mother for your intercession. We promise to honour you all the days of our lives, believing in your care and loving embrace always. Love you mama Mary!

Your Children.

6. Dear Mother Mary,

Words alone can’t thank you enough for always being there for me and watching over me. The last few months have been a whirlwind and I’ve been so lucky that I got an opportunity to do an honours program in Perth. Without your blessing, I don’t think any of this would have fallen into place, like getting a place to stay and even having such great family friends who I know will be there for me. Thank you for the countless blessings you have showered on to me. I’m so blessed to have such a loving mother watching over me and my family.

Your Loving Daughter.

7. Dear Mother Mary,

There are two incidents that prompted me to write this thanksgiving letter. This letter is long overdue but I know it is never too late to write one. I came to your shrine to ask for your intercession to help me and my classmate get through rough patches that we had been experiencing at the workplace where we were doing our internship placements. For me, I had been having a challenging time with my superior and the workload was overwhelming. Today, I experienced your motherly love and concern for me when I was able to complete my work within the stipulated work time and needed not to do overtime work. For my classmate, her company was about to terminate her placement, which meant that she would be unable to pass this internship module. I came to your shrine to help my classmate go through this semester without the necessity to repeat the module again. Mother, I know that all these would not have been possible without your powerful intercession whenever we call on you to help us.

Your Faithful Non-Catholic Daughter.
