Thanksgiving – 20 Jun 2020

1. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

On behalf of my family, I would like to thank you for your care and intercession during my father’s operation. He had a tumor in his brain that had to be taken out. We offered prayers from home because we could not come to Novena Church, as the church was closed to the public in May as covid-19 was beginning to spread.

The operation was a success, and the tumor was not malignant. We are very grateful to you, Mother for interceding to you Son Jesus.

Please continue to watch over us as we pray for all those who have contacted the virus and all the health workers on the frontline.

Once again, thank you.

Your loving daughter.

2. Dear Mother,

Thank you for your intercession to your Son, Jesus for answering my prayer for my friend who was stranded in Brisbane and had problems with her landlord. And since it was lockdown at the time because of the Covid-19 crisis she could not do anything. After about a month of anxiety and about to give up, a green light appeared and she was given the go ahead to travel, with all the requirements necessary to travel to Singapore, like the 14-day quarantine when she arrives, which she did safely. Even the problems with her landlord were all solved. Thank you once again, dearest Mother Mary.

Your loving child.

3. Dearest Mother Mary,

This thanksgiving letter is long overdue. As a baptised Catholic from birth and studied at Catholic schools, throughout my young life, and attended the novena devotions during that time, I began to drift away from the Church.

Then I got married and got involved with a different faith. I missed going to church for the longest time. Then two years ago, my daughter-in-law had a very difficult pregnancy during her trimester. We were very sad to be told that the baby could be still-born. So she had to be admitted to KK hospital.

Then one day, when I was at Novena Square, queuing to take the shuttle bus to KK hospital, to visit my daughter-in-law, I suddenly looked up and saw the cross at the Novena Church. This was of cause long before covid-19. I decided to walk to the church and wept at the shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help and asked for her intercession to our Lord for my daughter-in-law to have a safe delivery. I kept going to the shrine ever since, but only interrupted by the Covid-19 crisis. My daughter-in-law and my son have a beautiful baby boy.

Your grateful daughter.
