Thanksgiving – 2 December 2023

1. Dearest Mother,

We give thanks for your intercession to God for our son’s examination. He managed to pass 3 out of 4 papers and we are extremely grateful. Thank you and please continue to watch over our children that they will grow up well with the right attitude and values.

Your Daughter.

2. Dear Mother Mary,

Thank you for all the love you have been giving me and my family. Our prayer has been answered. We will be heading to another country so that our son will no longer feel stressed and struggle with his studies. The migration will be a new challenge for us but we are confident this way is the best way for our family. I am praying that my husband will get a new job and have a good career. Thank you for everything.

Your Grateful Daughter.

3. Dearest Mother Mary,

I would like to express my greatest thanks to you for healing my son who is an altar server here, at Novena Church. He served last weeks’ Novena Devotion and Sunday Mass with lots of happiness and on Monday morning he was hospitalised. Doctors initially said he would need a surgery but with your intercession he was healed. This has brought us closer to you. He is now feeling better. Thank you so much, Mother.

Your Loving Daughter.

4. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I came to you and asked for your prayers and intercession to Jesus for my son to have a successful spine surgery. I am now writing to thank you will all my heart for granting my son a smooth and successful surgery. Everything was perfect. The surgery was 3 weeks ago and my son is now recovering well. Please continue to watch over him during his recovery. We are so blessed to have you, Mother Mary, to journey with us through life, to comfort us and to always have someone to be with us when we need help. Thank you once again.

Your Faithful Daughter.

5. Dear Mother Mary,

Three weeks ago I wrote to you for your intercession that my MRI report and findings would be favourable. Mother, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Yesterday, I was informed that my MRI result was normal and that everything is ok. My next appointment will be in 6 months’ time. Mother, I want to thank you not only for your intercession in my healing, but for keeping me calm and confident to rely on my faith to function normally over the period of almost 2 months since the doctor shared his concern that I might have a brain tumour. I work in a high-pressured job yet I was able to undertake my daily tasks. I was able to attend to my family, keeping up with the house chores and cooking meals. It can only be you, Mother, who helped me constantly. The moment a thought of worry entered my mind, the words, “I have healed you” came to me. I thank you over and over dearest Mother. You know I have always loved you and I will continue to love you. What will I do without you dearest Mother?

Your Loving Catholic Daughter.

6. Dearest Mother Mary,

With a deeply grateful and humble heart, I thank you for the many blessings you have bestowed upon my family and me. Thank you for helping us through the challenging days when we had illness in the family. For keeping our faith strong. Thank you for this unexpected opportunity to move overseas with my current job and to be able to start a new life with my family. My faith and hope have always been my saving grace and I am deeply grateful for all your intercession.

Your Faithful Daughter.

7. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for all your prayers and protection for my family throughout this year. This year has been full of blessings. It wouldn’t have been possible without your great Motherly love and God’s presence and grace. I just want to thank you and God for everything. Please pray for us to grow in our faith and be more like you in obedience to God in our life.

Your Beloved Daughter.

8. Dearest Mother Mary,

I have been so blessed by your Motherly intercession. My cancer is now in complete remission, for almost 17 years. I escaped from a dangerous fall three weeks ago. It would have been a disaster. I know Mother, you were there to protect me. Please be with us and our families and watch over us.

Your Loving Son.

9. Dearest Mother,

I am giving a special thanks for the grace and blessing to become a mother of twins. You helped us to buy a house in Singapore and also protected me from some illnesses. You have always helped me. Thank you, Mother.

Your Faithful Child.

10. Dearest Blessed Mother,

I have been waiting for the moment to write this heartfelt thanksgiving letter, though it’s only more than mid-way through the medical route that I am still journeying…… It’s been 7 months since my 1st medical encounter that left me running to you in pain and tears, emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually, seeking your intercession, surrendering my all to you and our Lord! I had undergone a heart angiogram after a miserably failed ECHO test. The Lord healed me and it is a miracle. You, dear Mother, and the Lord were with me! However, my blood count was found to be low and I had to undergo radiology tests. I continuously entrusted everything to you, dearest Mother, and our Merciful Lord, knowing that you have been journeying with me since and still are. I know this in the deepest recess of my heart. Thank you. The test results recently came out as generally good with only a couple of minor issues. Amidst all, I know that you, Mother, and our Lord Jesus, love me! Yes, He knows me and has called me by name!

Your Loving Child.

11. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for giving us a safe trip to Hong Kong and Macau for a family reunion and to attend our cousin’s wedding! Please continue to intercede for us in our needs.

Your Daughter.

12. Dearest Mother,

Today I am sitting in front of your shrine with a heart full of gratitude and hope for the future. 6 years ago, at 27 years old, when my first born was just 6 weeks old, I was diagnosed with cancer. My husband came to you daily to seek your prayers and help for a miracle. After 4 months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, although I was cleared of the cancer, we thought we could not conceive again. In 2019, when we visited your grotto in Lourdes with our first born to give thanks, I asked for another child, not knowing we were already expecting him. Your prayers and comfort gave us confidence and hope. Fast forward to today, I am sitting here, thankful that the detailed scan of my 4th child went smoothly and that both of us are healthy and well. Thank you, Mother, for always interceding for us. Your Son, knows the desires of our hearts (to have a big family) and I know your comfort and assurance make it possible too. Thank you for your blessings.

Your Grateful Daughter.

13. Dearest Mother of Perpetual,

Thank you for all the years of interceding and praying for me and my family. I have so many things to be thankful and grateful for. Since coming to the Novena 45 years ago, you have always showed me the way to Jesus. You have showed me patience in my prayers, too. And I am especially thankful for your intercession and was overjoyed when my prayers were answered one by one in God’s time. The Lord has blessed my eldest son with a Catholic life partner. My husband’s illness is now stabilized under the care of a good doctor. Our granddaughter has also been accepted into a good Catholic school despite all the difficulties. Our youngest son and family have also successfully sold their flat and bought one nearer the children’s school. For myself, as I retire next year, I give thanks for God’s blessings in my 49 years of work, without which, my working life would not have been so smooth sailing and I would not be who I am today. Thank you once again for your constant intercession.

Your Ever-Grateful Daughter.
