Thanksgiving – 19 May 2018

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

I have been coming to Novena since young and now I am over 80 years old and am still coming to visit you in this church. I am not good in writing a thanksgiving letter, but I have to write a short letter to thank you for answering my prayers whenever I have some fear in life. After praying to you, I know you have listened to my prayers because I feel at ease. Thank you, Mother Mary. Do continue to take care of my health so that I can continue coming to Novena.

  1. Dearest Mother,

Happy Mother’s Day! Thank you for always being by our side during our troubled times. I feel comforted as you are always watching over us. I am grateful for how you always helped and encouraged me. I want to celebrate this special day with you by being always with you and celebrate today together. I love you! You are my greatest mother! I am so grateful that you are my mum!

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

I would like to thank you for praying and interceding to your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Two years ago, my husband got retrenched due to restructuring in the company and many lost their jobs. We were completely devastated and did not know what to do. He applied for so many jobs but he did not receive any reply from any companies. We had to sell our flat when the monthly installments were more than what we could afford. But we did not lose hope and continued coming to your shrine, praying week after week.

Last month, my husband received an email from a local company asking him to go for an interview but unfortunately, we were travelling to India on the same day for a wedding. He replied that he was unable to come for the interview due as he needed to travel out of the country but he left his contact number with the company. Words cannot express our joy when the company director called up and interviewed him over the phone and sent him a message to come to the office immediately after he returns. He was offered a senior management position and was asked to start work immediately. No words can express our gratitude to you, Mother. It is a great miracle in our life and thank you for giving us hope and we are very grateful to you for being there for us. Please continue to intercede and guide us dear Mother, especially in times of difficulties and trials.

Your Faithful Daughter.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

Thank you very much for watching over my grandfather who passed away peacefully on 11 April after being hospitalized for almost 2 weeks. Although we were not by his bedside when he left this world, we know that he is reunited with our heavenly Father. Please continue to watch over my grandmother who we know is missing him dearly right now. May she overcome her grief and sorrow. Thank you once again for hearing our prayers.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Upon reflection of the last 4 years in secondary school, there were many difficult times in which I implored your help and sought your intercession. Whether it was dealing with grief, exam stress or hopeless situations at competitions, you were always there. In my struggles I was unable to understand why I had to go through these. With your guidance, I was able to not only overcome the adversities but also understand now that those tough times have shaped me into a better person and even have a closer relationship with God. Thank you for helping me to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Please continue to watch over me.

Your Loving Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for your protection for my dad throughout his cancer treatment. He is a Buddhist but he is open enough to come for weekly Novena devotion with me. He has also been bringing the Novena booklet for every cancer treatment for strength. I am truly thankful for that as I have been praying for his conversion. Please continue to instill strength and positivity in him, stir his spirit and let him know that he is not alone and is always being protected by your love, together with our Heavenly Father who is watching over him. Thank you, Mother Mary, for your unconditional love and mercy.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

This is my very first thanksgiving letter to you my loving Mother. Thank you for the gift of life, gift of family, being a daughter, a wife, a mother and a sister. Being alone here in Singapore is not easy, there are a lot of ups and downs but with your intercession, everything is under control now. In the past few weeks, I was struggling and having sleepless nights. Since your church was re-opened, I promised myself that I will try my best to come and attend the weekly devotion. Thank you, Mother, for answering my prayers and aligning my plans with your will.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

A few months ago, I wrote a petition to intercede for my mother who was diagnosed with Stage 2 colon cancer. She had to undergo an operation to remove the tumor. After which, the doctor said there was no need for her to receive chemotherapy. We felt so relieved and happy to hear that and I also asked for your intercession to help my husband to find a job as he had lost his job while I was expecting my third child. It has been almost one and a half years. Thank you for your prayers, he finally found a job. You never fail to work miracles!

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

This thanksgiving letter is long overdue, I remembered I came to your shrine last year on 13 May and wished that I could be in Fatima. It was not possible because of finances but you granted my wish. I submitted my insurance claim 6 months ago as advised by my social worker. My claim was approved and had substantial amount for me to go on a pilgrimage to Fatima, Lourdes and Spain. On 13 October, I was there to celebrate the centennial with you, Mother. You healed me of my past hurts and abuses when I was in Lourdes. I thank God and you, Mother.

Your Loving Child.
