Thanksgiving – 14 September 2024

1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Firstly I would like to thank you for making it possible for me to attend the nine consecutive Saturdays at Novena Church in preparation for the Annual Procession. I would also like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for interceding to Jesus for me as my eldest granddaughter has been successful in registering for a place in P1 next year in the school of her choice. Thank you, once again.

Your Loving Daughter.

2. Dear Mother Mary,

I would like to thank you and our Lord Jesus for the many blessings in my life. I have been coming to the Novena for the past thirty years with my husband, and sometimes with my children. I believe that all my blessings are due to your intercession, and my current state of contentment is possible only through the grace of God. I thank God for giving me a kind, loving and understanding husband who is always there for me and our children.

Your Ever-Grateful Daughter.

3. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

A month ago, I asked for your intercession for a boyfriend. And through God’s grace and your prayers, God has blessed me with a wonderful man with a big heart, and I have never felt like this towards anyone before. I pray for your constant intercession that our relationship will grow deeper, and we will place God at the centre of our lives. I hope things will go well between us, so please watch over us. Thank you, once again, dear Mother.

Your Daughter.

4. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for your unwavering guidance and for your intercession. My husband and I were struggling to find a job in Canada for almost a year. We experienced many challenges since we came to Canada from Singapore, where we had jobs and a good life. Every day was a struggle in Canada and the only thing I had was faith in God and you, and the love of my family back home in the Philippines. After our prayers and your intercession, dear Mother, we both got jobs from the same company in Canada. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for guiding us every step of our lives.

Your Loving Daughter.

5. Dear Mother Mary,

This is a very belated thanksgiving letter but a thanksgiving that must be expressed. In 2020 my beloved grandmother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Given her age, doctors recommended against surgical removal of the tumour and gave her a year to live. Now it’s 2024, and my grandmother’s tumour has not grown, and she remains alive and cheerful, despite the occasional pain and discomfort. We are so grateful for the miracle, and do not take for granted every day that she is with us. Thank you, dear Mother, for your intercessions and we ask that you continue to intercede for my grandma, for her continued health, strength, and wellbeing.

Your Grateful Family.

6. Dearest Mother,

Thank you for your love and intercession to your Son over the years. My family and I are blessed with good health and protection. Thank you for keeping my faith in Jesus and you. We love you.

Your Daughter.

7. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I was having a stressful time in the office as my new boss would make big issues out of simple matters and use them as personal attacks against me. I was surprised and hurt. I prayed for peace in the office as there didn’t seem to be a solution to avoid these personal attacks no matter how hard I tried to do my work well. Somehow the work relationship has improved tremendously. I am so grateful that the situation has turned amicable and cooperative. Thank you, dearest Mother, for your prayers and giving me peace of mind.

Your Loving Daughter.

8. Dear Mother Mary,

A few weeks ago, I prayed for your intercession to our Lord to heal me as I had to undergo surgery to remove a tumour in my neck. Today I come before you, Mother, to thank you for your intercession to our Lord. The surgery was successful, the tumour was removed, and the test results showed that the tumour was benign. Words cannot express my gratitude for hearing my prayers. Please continue to pray for me to have the strength to be faithful to our Lord Jesus.

Your Catholic Son.
