Thanksgiving 13 April 2019

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

During this Lenten season I want to let you know how grateful and joyful I am to be a practising and devoted Catholic son of yours. I wasn’t like this for a long time, but I know it’s through your intercession and constant guidance in my daily prayers and activities that I am here now. Thank you my dearest mother for all you have done for me and my family.

Your Catholic Son.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me my job back on yearly contract renewal. I got this job on the second day of Lent and 13 years ago, I got this job offer on Maundy Thursday. I know Mother, you will always be by my side and I am always grateful for all you have done for me.

Your Loving Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

Thank you for praying for my beloved friend. She passed away this morning. I felt sad to lose a good friend. I wish to thank you for holding her hands for many years since she attended the Novena Chinese RCIA. Although she did not receive baptism after RCIA, she continued to attend faithfully the Novena Mandarin Devotion every Saturday for many years. She was finally baptized on 11 March 2019. I am very glad that she finally received baptism and enjoyed God’s peace in the last few weeks of her life. We also had a last wonderful conversation together 2 weeks ago when she was still alert and able to speak and smile. All these blessings would not be possible without your prayers and care for us. I told her to look for you when she does not know who to follow. Yes, Mother Mary, I know she must be with you now. Please look after her and hold her hands. Thank you Mother.

Your Daughter.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

This letter is a long overdue one. Throughout my life, you have guided me and answered my prayers. It took 6 years after marriage for me to get pregnant and throughout that difficult journey I constantly prayed to you and in your immense love and through your wonderful Son, you have answered my prayers. We were blessed with 2 healthy sons, they are now 4 years old and we continuously thank you for the wonderful blessing. Since then at every difficulty faced, I have come running to you, seeking your assistance and protection. You have never forgotten me even though I have at most times forgotten to thank you for your kindness. Most recently, I prayed to you for a new job and with your blessing, I managed to get a good job. Thank you, Mother Mary. You are my strength at all times. It is to you that I always turn with faith and confidence that you’ll lend your power to answer our prayers through your Son, Jesus Christ. Mother, thank you once again for my wonderful husband and 2 beautiful boys.

Your Loving Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

This thanksgiving letter is long overdue. Thank you for answering my petition for a cure of my eye condition. Although the check-up last December showed that the condition is still there but it is stable.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you very much for watching over me in my career. I have served 27 years as a Nurse and now at 47 I have decided to resign from a very peaceful and well paid work environment. It was not an easy decision to make but I made it. I will have no income from 14th April. I am planning to do some ministry and charity work that’s along my nursing line. Mother, please teach me to love the sick, oppressed and the marginalized. Help me to hear them and spend my time more with God and you. Let this early retirement be very fruitful and pray for me that I will be made an instrument of God. I also pray that God will provide enough for our needs. Watch over my new mission and keep me humble and perseverance in whatever the calling may be.

Your Loving Catholic Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you so much for your prayers and intercession for helping my daughter to overcome all her difficulties during her 3 years of study at the Polytechnic. I am so grateful that she has finally graduated with a Diploma. Mother Mary, please continue to pray for her University admission to be successful. She wants to study in NUS.

Your Loving Child.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for interceding for me to your Son, Jesus. You have opened the doors for me to another job at this late stage of my career, without which I would be in a challenging position. I continue to pray for the guidance to your Son, in my new job. No words can express my sincere gratitude to you and your Son for this miracle.

Your Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you, dearest Mother Mary for so many things. Thank you for praying for me and blessing me with a smooth and successful mastectomy. I was very scared but you were there for me and praise the Lord that my operation was a success and I really felt no pain. My recovery has also been wonderful and I can barely see the scar. Even though in the end, my diagnosis was stage 2 breast cancer, I thank you and our Lord because it could have been so much worse, given the size of the tumour. Praise the Lord, my lymph nodes and the rest of my body are clear. As I prepare to start my chemotherapy, please continue to pray for me for the peace and strength to do God’s will and carry this cross and for a smooth and successful treatment with minimal side effects and no complications and infections.

Your Loving Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

I turn 21 years old today. Being a typical young adult, I have taken a lot of things for granted in life. I was a cradle Catholic, but the only time I went to Church was during a family member’s funeral. But somehow I always swung by your shrine and I would just come and sit down on the bench. The building then was extremely old (before renovation) but somehow I found a beauty in it. One fine day, I google-searched where the Novena Devotion was being held since the main Church was undergoing renovation. I went for the Devotion. I instantly fell in love with it. I then joined the RCIA to learn more about you. It’s been 3 years since I did my Confirmation. My journey has been a roller-coaster ride but no matter how much I strayed away from you, you have always blessed me with nothing but the best. Sometimes, I come to you praying for something. And when you don’t grant me, there were times I questioned my faith. But as soon as I questioned myself, you blessed me with something more than I could ask for. I am so thankful that you have always kept me close to you. Even on weeks when I am unable to attend Mass due to heavy commitments, you somehow allow me to pass by your shrine while travelling in the taxi. Thank you for blessing me with so much, my dear Mother. As I step into adulthood, I foresee a lot of struggles but I hope and pray that you will always guide me like how you have been and may I always remain close to you. I love you, Mother.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for the many blessings you have showered upon my family and myself through your kind intercession with Jesus, your Son. Please continue to intercede to Him on our behalf so that we may continue to enjoy the blessings of good health and be kept safe from harm and danger and illness always.
