Thanksgiving – 11 November 2023

1. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

I give thanks today as I recount the difficulties my wife and I went through to have a child. We have a healthy 5 year-old boy now, whom God has chosen for us to grow into better people as we learn to be parents to him to the best of our abilities. I also give thanks for my healing and recovery from a slipped disc and back issue which had been ongoing for 11 years. While I’m not fully healed, I’m constantly searching and finding ways, and have been blessed to seek out the best therapies over these 11 years. Today, my wife and I feel ready to have a third child after losing our 2nd to a miscarriage. I’m thankful for the ever-present help in praying for our family and long for our family to grow in love and numbers. I trust in God and, you, Mother Mary, to show us what’s best for us. Thank you, dearest Mother, for being around us and with us.

Your Children.

2. Dear Mother,

I would like to thank you for interceding for me to our Lord Jesus Christ, for I’ve signed the confirmation letter of my performance and probation review. I am now a regular employee and I was praised for my hard work and dedication at work. I thank our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who has been my guidance and the centre of my life, the source of my life and the reason why I keep on going. I will always serve you in every way to praise and honour you and to give you thanks for everything, and every moment of my life. Thank you, Mother and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Your Child.

3. Dear beloved Mother Mary,

Thank you for watching over our family and for your constant intercession. The 3 years of the Covid-19 pandemic were difficult for my family. We lost our father due to Pneumonia 3 years ago. My mother got more depressed due to this loss on top of having a stroke over a decade ago. My youngest boy was found to have mild Dysleyxia at Primary 4 and did not do as well as initially hoped for in his PSLE last year. We have been hoping and praying that things would turn out better on all fronts. My boy has done exceptionally well, for his Sec 1 end-of-year exam. He became the only person of his cohort to be promoted to the Express stream. Without your help and God’s grace, this would not be possible. We have been blessed with 3 beautiful children, 2 older girls and a boy. We praise God for all the miracles despite having to face difficult moments. Thank you, Mother Mary, for all your love and prayers.

Your Unworthy Son.

4. Mama Mary,

Thank you that my ultrasound results show no cancer. I am deeply grateful for the blessings you’ve given me. I know I will continue to ask for your intercession for my complete healing. I just want you to know that I am always grateful for your help. I remember how my parents would ask us to pray your novena when times were hard. As a child, when it was tough with friends in school, I would go to the chapel and pray to you. This is what led me back to you, even if at the beginning I felt bad because my cancer came back in spite of my prayers to you. But I know Jesus asks us to persist in prayer, and nothing is impossible with our Divine Physician. You call us to come to you in our need. Thank you for taking care of us and hearing our prayers.

Your Grateful Daughter.

5. Dear Mother Mary,

I was worried when I started school again after almost 20 years. Mother, thank you for journeying with me and helping me get a place in the University that I wanted. You are with me when I manage work, study, family, faith of my children, and all other responsibilities at the same time. People often ask how I could do it, especially with financial and family troubles. I have no other reason except for the strength that God has given me and your intercession. I am so humbled by your love. Mother Mary, please help me to be a mother like you to my children.

Your Grateful Child.

6. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for listening to our prayer. On Oct 25 my mother went for a coronary angiogram and found that they were two blockages. The doctors said they would do their best if it could be done by angioplasty, if not my mother would need to have an open-heart surgery. I asked my sibling to continue to pray. We didn’t have much financial support but we trusted in you. Thank you, Mother Mary for listening to our prayers and interceding for my mother. She had a smooth and successful angioplasty. Thank you, for taking care of our financial needs too. Words cannot express how grateful we are. Once again thank you Mother Mary.

Your Grateful Daughter.

7. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for your intercession to Jesus, for the safe pregnancy of my grandniece and the birth of a normal healthy baby girl on 27 October 2023. Thank you very much to Jesus & you for hearing my prayers and granting my petition.

Your Grateful Child.

8. Dearest Mother Mary,

This is an overdue letter. In 2020, my family and loved ones were looking forward to a big celebration with the wedding of my husband and I. Little did we know what was to come. Covid hit us hard and things took a turn for the worse as my dad’s health deteriorated at an accelerated pace. My husband and I made really tough decisions; in the hope things would look up for the world and for my dad too, putting on hold everything. Fast forward 2021, during Holy Week – the Lord called my dad to his eternal resting home. As a true daddy’s girl, I was devastated beyond words and in this time of grieve, I turned to you oh Holy Mother, your Son, Jesus, and your blessed spouse St. Joseph, seeking comfort, mercy and refuge. As time passed – with prayer, reflection and complete surrender. I want to THANK YOU WITH ALL MY HEART for blessing me with such amazing parents who have shown me how pure and REAL love, life and faith are. I am truly grateful for my iron lady: my earthly mother – it is because of your unceasing intercession, love, mercy and compassion for us; that we are and have been able to continue life’s journey – even through the darkest of times. Thank you for the countless blessings you have showered us with – we love you!

Your Faithful Daughter.

9. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Succour,

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me to go through a 12-hour operation to remove all the cancerous cells from my body. The operation went on smoothly with no complication and I am now going through the healing process. Thank you for interceding to Jesus for me and I want to thank Jesus and all the saints in heaven for helping me. Thank you for answering my prayers and petitions.

Your Catholic Daughter.
