Thanksgiving – 11 May 2024

1. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

Some time ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer and was very worried. I attended the Novena for the first time one Saturday. After the Novena I asked the priest to pray over me, after explaining about my sickness. He did and he also asked me to go back into the church and pray in front of your Shrine, which I did. Two weeks later I went for my CT scan as recommended, and the doctor was surprised to discover that the cancer had almost disappeared. I was on chemo for the next month. And now I only need to see the doctor once in six months. I met the priest on another Saturday and told him the good news, and he recommended that I thank you, Mother, for your intercession to Jesus. I am very grateful, thank you once again.

Your Loving Daughter.

2. Dear Mother,

Words cannot express how grateful I am for your help in guiding my son’s discernment about whether this girl he is with is to be his lifetime partner. You have truly answered my prayers. My son has finally decided to break off the relationship due to their lack of common goals in life. Mother, may Jesus heal both my son and this girl and bless them so that they can move on in life. I am sure you know what’s best for my son, and I raise him up in prayer that he will find a right partner in life.

Your Thankful Daughter.

3. Dear Mother Mary,

Thank you for your constant intercession. Someone I had previously journeyed with and had suddenly disappeared from my life called me to say that she was baptised at Easter. Praise the Lord! I was so happy for her. The news was timely as I was feeling quite overwhelmed that day with work and family issues. I am encouraged and reminded that in life, we need to keep walking one step at a time in faith. Thank you, Mother. So much grace and beauty exist daily, if I only remember to pause and reflect.

Your Humble Daughter.

4. Dearest Mama Mary,

Today I celebrate the 2nd year since my cancer treatment 2 years ago. I am grateful for the chance I have been given to be healthy again. I give praise and thanks to Jesus. Now I lift up my prayers for fellow cancer survivors and their families. Dear Mary, please continue to intercede for us that we may soon declare that we are cancer free.

Your Most Grateful Child.

5. Dearest Mother,

I wrote a petition asking for your kind intercession for my brother in his business venture. He is gaining some traction finally and having some business. Thank you for watching over him and for interceding to Jesus for us.

Your Grateful Son.

6. Dear Mother Mary,

A year ago, my manager had asked me to resign. After 13 years in the company, I thought that was it. I prayed for your guidance, and wrote a thanksgiving letter to you for the life I had lived in Singapore. But God allowed me to stay, and I passed my PIP. From that time, I knew that He was preparing me emotionally and mentally. Now my heart and soul are finally ready. I have resigned and will be going home for good. I will always be grateful to Singapore, Novena Church and you, dearest Mother of Perpetual Help, who have been my source of strength and hope all these years. Thank you for your intercession and your continued guidance, and offer the Lord the new life that awaits me at home.

Your Most Loving Daughter.

7. Dear Mother Mary,

Thank you for your intercession to Jesus for my niece who got a scholarship. We know this wouldn’t have been possible without your help. Please continue to intercede for all people praying to you.

Your Catholic Daughter.

8. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for your prayers to your Son, Jesus. My dear wife had surgery to remove a tumour from her lung. The surgery was successful, and the cancer had not spread. Please continue to intercede to your Son for a full recovery, as she still needs to go through some chemo.

Your Loving Son.
