Thanksgiving – 10 Oct 2020

1. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for answering my prayers and the many blessings that you have interceded for me and my family. Early this year in March, my son was scheduled to complete his final exams in Germany. Due to the pandemic, the exams were cancelled. My son was very disappointed and decided to stay back to wait for a rescheduled exam date. April, May went by and there was still no news. As the virus became more rampant, we were very worried. My mother, who is his grandmother, suggested that we pray for your intercession. In early June, the university granted permission for those affected to fulfil their requirements in other selected universities. He cleared the exam in another university and graduated successfully. He is now safely back in Singapore and just completed his quarantine. Thank you, Mother Mary, for your kind intercession. We love you.

Your Ever-Grateful Daughter.

2. Dearest Mother,

This letter is long overdue. There were many occasions when I told myself I should make it a point to write but somehow I never did. For as long as I can remember, we have been attending the weekly Novena and going for the annual procession with my mum. I witnessed my mum’s devout 9 weeks Novena for us, whole year long and her unfaltering faith as her prayers were answered. But then we grew up and got busy with school and life’s distractions and gradually stopped going to the Novena with mum. I went overseas to study and came back to work, got married and gave birth to 2 wonderful kids. All these are things I want to thank you for, as I know my mum would have prayed for these in the 9 weeks Novena for me. Then mum got sick and my husband walked out of the family. Mum passed away, followed not long after Dad. I felt so lost and alone. It was a very difficult time for me as my parents were my anchors. It took me some time but I found my way back to the Saturday Novena. It was like coming home. I wondered why I had not come to you for your intercession when mum was sick and when my marriage fell apart. Deep inside, I know it’s my mum who draws me back to you, loving Mother. I am here now and that’s all it matters. I place my children under your protection. And I know you will bring them closer to God as you did for me. They are doing well and I thank you for watching over us. Mother, you have been there for me throughout my life and I thank you for not giving up on me. Please say hi to mum and dad for me.

Your Thankful & Loving Daughter.

3. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

During my daughter-in-law’s pregnancy, a small cyst was found in the baby’s brain. I asked for your help and you have not failed me. Now, I have a beautiful and healthy granddaughter.

Your Catholic Daughter.

4. Dear Mother Mary,

Thank you for your intercession in providing for us through the Covid period and keeping us safe. It has helped to build and bond my family that had gone astray for years. This is our greatest joy now.

Your Loving Child.

5. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you so much for interceding for me. My ‘pins and needles’ feeling is gone. The pain on my abdomen is gone. And best of all the polyp in my womb has vanished. The gynae said everything looks good. Thank you for your intercession.

Your Grateful Daughter.

6. Dearest Mother,

Thank you for giving me the courage to talk to my mother today. We have not spoken for 3 months because of an argument and today I managed to call her and talk to her. Thank you, Mother Mary.

Your Daughter.

7. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for being with me this week and helping me to finish my revision to the best of my abilities. Thank you for never leaving my side and reinforcing my love and faith in God. Thank you for inspiring me to have faith in God alone and to please Him in all that I do so that I may live according to His will and not mine.

Your Grateful Daughter.
