Thankagiving – 16 Feb 2019

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

After coming to the Novena for more than 40 years, this is my first thanksgiving letter. I have always made my petitions and thanksgiving through my prayers when attending the Novena. But this time, I felt it was right to send in a thanksgiving when my prayers were answered. I thank you with all my heart for being there for me when I needed your intercession. I was truly worried and stressed when the doctors found some abnormality in my lungs initially and I was required to go for a CT Scan. I prayed so hard that there would be nothing wrong with me. I just got back the results and the doctors confirmed that there is nothing wrong with my lungs. I was so relieved and the stress that was hanging over me has been lifted. Mother, thank you for everything that you have done for me.

Your Faithful Son.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I started attending the Novena Service weekly ever since the Church moved back to the present premises. I came specially to pray for my younger daughter to be successful in getting a job. She graduated two years ago but did not have any job offers despite attending some interviews. Four months ago, I decided to send in a petition to you seeking for your intercession. Week after week, I was waiting for some good news but the interviews seemed to stop. Sometimes, I wondered if you heard my cry for help but the thanksgiving letters read out each Saturday reassured me that miracles do happen and petitions do get granted. YES! My daughter started working two weeks ago. Thank you so much for your intercession.

  1. Dearest Mother,

Thank you for healing my son who is living in Australia from his eczema. His burning skin has improved after 8 weeks. Thank you for my 12 days of work trip clearing all the issues in office. Your strange ways of embracing me these days are very surprising and lifting up my spirit. Thank you, dearest Mother.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

Thank you for your intercession in 2018. It was a difficult year, full of challenges and uncertainty. We were wondering if any of our plans were going to come to realization. Even at times when our faith wavered, you never gave up on us. You taught us to persevere and to continue praying. We came to Novena every week and asked for your intercession to help us go through all the obstacles and struggles that we were going through daily. We thank you for looking after us and keeping us safe and healthy. 2019 has barely started but you have already showed us that the Lord is in control and will guide us through our difficulties. We thank you for opening new doors for us and providing a clear direction for us to move on in our lives.

Your Loving Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

Our family had a safe trip in London to attend our daughter’s graduation ceremony and our holiday thereafter. Thank you, Mother, for interceding for us in our prayers and for protecting us during the trip and also keeping my aged mother in good health while we were away.

Your Grateful Son.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

My grandmother has always been a devout Catholic, avidly volunteering in Church ever since I could remember. She took care of me since I was born, fed me, taught me how to recite the Our Father and Hail Mary in Mandarin while my parents worked to support the family. Every Chinese New Year, all my relatives will come over for a gathering. However, my grandmother suffered a stroke in 2010. We were told that she only had 6 months to live. We prayed day and night, trusting God in the process, whether my grandmother was to live or not. I am very thankful that through it all, she passed 6 months up till now, almost 10 years after what the doctor had predicted. I thank you, Mother Mary, for taking care of her all the time. Despite her not being the same since her stroke, she still continues to pray every day. She will be turning 81 this February and I am so grateful that she is able to watch me grow up. I thank you for keeping her safe all these years and for giving her so many blessings despite what she had been through.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I would like to thank you sincerely for all the blessings that you have bestowed on me. Without you and our Lord Jesus, I am nothing in this world. You were with me when I went through my difficulties in life and with your intercession I am moving on and getting stable in all areas of my life. Thank you once again, dearest Mother.

Your Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for keeping me safe for the past 41 years and that I did not have any major issues in my life. Thank you for bringing me back to Novena and finding peace.

Your Grateful Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

I thank you for answering my prayers. I finally found an interesting job with one of the hospitals near your shrine after 7 months of searching. It will be a new beginning and an exciting change for me with a new job in a new industry.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

This thanksgiving letter is long overdue. It’s been 21 years since I landed in Singapore at the age of 21 after my graduation. I got a placement in Singapore. My family was not financially stable and I was desperately looking for a job then. I did not expect to get a job in Singapore. You have blessed me and my family abundantly all these years. You have been guiding me and protecting me all these years. I got married and I am blessed with 2 children. Words cannot express my gratitude towards you and your Son, Jesus. I decided to go back to my hometown and settle down in 2010, but due to some reasons, I did not like the job there and was eager to return to Singapore. Within 15 months, I found a job back here with your intercession and you have blessed our family abundantly.
