Logo Design Competition Brief

Overview:

We are excited to announce a logo competition to celebrate the upcoming 75th Anniversary of Novena Church. This is an opportunity for everyone to get creative and to contribute to our milestone celebration. 

Objective:

Design a commemorative logo for Novena Church 75th Anniversary Celebration.

75th Anniversary Theme:

Gratitude & Hope:   Remember                 Rejoice                Renew

The celebration focuses on the “journey” that we have had as a community, led by Mother Mary to Jesus. We look back at the 75 years of the Church’s presence with deep gratitude, appreciating all the intercessions of Mother Mary and the strong presence and graces bestowed to the church goers over the years. We look to our journey ahead as a community of faith with hope, knowing that Mother Mary will always walk closely with us and God will always welcome us with open arms.

The 3 “Rs” also helps us to anchor the celebration emphasising the internal disposition in “time”.
– Remember: we remember our past with great gratitude, recounting the many blessings and clear indications of the faithfulness of God in our lives

– Rejoice: we rejoice knowing that we have a mother who is always journeying closely with us and a God who only wants to relate to us closer each day

– Renewal: we renew our commitment to share the love of Mary and God to our neighbours, we will spread the good news through our thoughts, words, and deeds

Design Requirements:

  1. Unique, original, and creative design.
  2. Incorporate elements that reflect the Novena Church values, mission and identity.
    (e.g.: the church’s arches and the above theme).
  3. Include the number “75” or a subtle reference to the number of years (1950 – 2025).
  4. Scalable for various formats (banners, merchandise, digital use).

 

Design Preferences:

  1. Simple, meaningful and impactful.
  2. Must incorporate the distinguishable Novena Church arches (as seen in our church logo) and the 75th Anniversary theme of Gratitude & Hope: Remember Rejoice Renew.
  3. Colours: Open to interpretation; however, consider using colours that resonate with the Novena Church’s identity.

 

Competition Details:

  1. Open to everyone.
  2. Submission deadline: 10 December 2024.
  3. The winning design will receive a cash prize of S$500, a certificate and an invitation to Annual Novena Procession 2025. The logo will also be featured prominently during our anniversary celebrations.

 

Submission Guidelines:

  1. Please include a written rationale for your design concept.
  2. Electronic submissions:

  1. By Hand submissions:

Please print design in A4 paper, together with your written rational of the design concept, place it in an envelope and drop it at Novena Church Reception,
300 Thomson Road,    Singapore 307653.
Reception Hours:          Monday to Friday: 9.00am to 8.00pm

Saturday: 7.30am to 7.00pm

Sunday: 8.30am to 1.30pm & 4.30pm to 7.00pm

  1. All entries must include your name, email and contact number.
  2. Deadline for submissions: 10 December 2024.

 

Judging Criteria:

  1. Creativity and originality.
  2. Relevance to Novena Church.
  3. Aesthetic appeal and visual impact.
  4. Effectiveness in representing the 75th Anniversary.
  5. Once the designs have been shortlisted, we may require you to provide adaptations of it in full colour, single colour, reverse white and a black and white version in order to determine its visual appeal when applied across varying background requirements.

Timeline:

  1. Submission deadline: 10 December 2024.
  2. Winner announcement:  The organising committee will contact the winner privately either through email, social    media, or by phone no later than 1 Jan 2025.
  3. Logo launch: 1 Jan 2025.

Note:

  1. By submitting a design entry, participants agree to the terms and conditions of the competition.
  2. Novena Church reserves the right to tweak and modify the logo.
  3. By submitting your design, you agree that Novena Church will retain full copyright ownership of the logo.
