Thanksgiving – 4 May 2019

1. Dearest Mother Mary,

I am thankful for my form teacher. She is a very calm lady and when we get full marks for our spelling, she will reward us with sweets and I thank God for this wonderful teacher.

2. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

This letter is long overdue. Thank you for sending me a good shepherd to my dad who was warded in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, praying over him and thus this brought peace and comfort to my dad. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for interceding for me to your Son, Jesus. Please continue to pray for all the good shepherds, to give them a deep faith, a bright and firm hope and a burning love which will ever increase in the course of their priestly life.

3. Dearest Mother,

Thank you so much for interceding on my behalf and after months of praying I finally found a job. I just got a call out of the blue from my former employer who asked me to re-join them and within 24 hours, they offered me a senior position in the company and I am very grateful.

4. Dear Mother Mary,

I am very thankful and grateful to you and your beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, for the miraculous healing that you have given to my mother. I came to your shrine on 4 April asking you to intercede for my mother. She suffered a massive heart attack and she is already of old age but miraculously surpassed it. I know that it was you and our Lord Jesus Christ, who healed her. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and I love you.

5. Dearest Mother,

Thank you very much for protecting my daughter and grandson and giving them a safe holiday in Hong Kong. Thank you for protecting my grand-daughter in the taxi accident. She only suffered a hard knock on her shoulder and arm. I cannot imagine what would have happened to her without you shielding her. Mother, I do not know how to thank you enough for always being with us and taking care of us. I also thank God for giving all of us a Great and Loving Mother.

6. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I am sorry for this long overdue thanksgiving letter. It has been 15 years since I last wrote to you. 15 years ago, my company was in the midst of closing down. I was very desperate and wondered whether I was able to get a suitable job to feed my family. I prayed for your help and with your intercession, my ex-boss introduced me to a new job and I was gainfully employed before I was told to leave. Since then, my career has been smooth going. During the past 15 years, I was promoted and was financially sound to send my children to universities and was able to go for our annual family holiday. My wife and I are extremely grateful and thankful that you have blessed us with good health. With your constant protection and guidance, my 2 daughters are now grown up. Both of them are sensible and they are a joy to us. I am very grateful to you for blessing my eldest daughter with a good catholic husband. The couple have a blissful marriage and have been very active in leading the youth group of the church. I pray that you will bless them with a child so that I can be a grandpa soon. I also pray that my second daughter will find a suitable catholic husband. Once again, a big thank you for your countless blessing.

7. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for looking after my father while he undergoes dialysis and also watching over me to finish my degree course. Thank you for the wonders that I am leading a more fulfilling and happier life than before.

8. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for all the aid that you have provided me through life. There were times in life when I was left helpless and stranded but you have assisted me. You have always been the light during the times when I felt lonely. You are always there to guide me and lead me back to God.

9. Dearest Mother,

I am so thankful that with your help and blessing, I managed to secure a better job offer before my current contract expired. Thank you so much for helping me in my moment of need. You have truly shown that you will answer my prayers if I trust and believe in you.

10. Dearest Mother Mary,

I want to thank you for your powerful intercession to your Son, Jesus, for answering all my prayers. My brother was diagnosed with colon cancer late last year. He underwent a series of procedures and was operated on 4 March 2019. I am very happy and grateful that the surgery was a success. He need not have to carry a stoma which I was worried about. At the recent review, he was told that he would not need to go through chemotherapy. Praise the Lord for his recovery.

11. Dearest Mother,

Words cannot express my sincere thanks to you for interceding to your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to be with my son through a successful operation in London on 25 April 2019. However, the doctor told my son that it was inevitable a gland near the tumour behind his neck had also to be removed in the operation. He will find himself thirsty more easily and will perspire when he is eating. Mother, I pray earnestly to you to assist my son to overcome the two side effects and strengthen him to build up his body immune system.
