Thanksgiving – 30 Nov 2019

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

I want to give thanks to the Lord and you Mother Mary for all the blessings bestowed upon me and my family.

My granddaughter obtained very good results for her PSLE and I am sure you must have given her a helping hand. Thank you very much. Please continue to look after my 3 children, their spouses and my 6 grandchildren together with my husband and myself. Grant us all good health and keep us safe from dangers. I am forever grateful to you Mother Mary.

Yours Faithfully.

  1. My Dearest Mother Mary,

Words cannot express my heartfelt gratitude. My husband and I will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary on Saturday with a Mass and dinner. It has been a rough ride but we were determined to keep my vows. I survived after he had 2 extra-marital affairs. I continue to pray for your guidance in our marriage and allow us to love each other unconditionally for many more years to come.

Your ever-grateful Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

My family and I sincerely thank you for giving my daughter a smooth delivery even though she suffered almost 24 hours of labour pain. Baby is healthy and adorable. We also pray for my daughter to have a speedy recovery. Once again, thank you Mother.

Your sinner Daughter.

  1. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for helping me stay strong at the face of adversity, for my friends and the people around me. Please intercede for my grandfather and everyone in my family as well. Forgive me for the times I thought I did not need you. I was extremely foolish. Thank you for bringing me closer to God and holding my hand all the way. Thank you for giving me the strength to fight the good fight of faith. I love you Mother and help me to be a better steward.

Your Daughter.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

A few months ago, my non-Catholic friend who was undergoing a brain tumour operation, accompanied me to the Novena to ask for your intercession for a successful operation.  He has undergone the surgery and now is back with me every week giving thanks for his successful surgery. Thank you Mother Mary for I know it is by your intercession that he made it through the operation and he remains ever so grateful.

Your Loving Son.

  1. Dear Mother,

Thank you for hearing my prayers and interceding  for me to find a good job with bosses who are pro-family and supportive of my wishes to have children. Please continue to watch over me as I move into the new job. Help me to overcome all the challenges. I am grateful for all your blessings thus far in my life. Thank you.

  1. Our Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for hearing our prayer. Our mum was admitted to the ICU and her prognosis was not good. She was unresponsive and had been intubated. Miraculously after a week, she responded well to the medicine and is now in a normal ward. Please continue to watch and protect her.

Your Loving Children.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

First of all, I apologize that it has been a long time since I last wrote to you.  Thank you, Mother for all the blessings you have showered on me.  This year has been a good year in terms of our family affairs with a number of happy memories and plans for my uncle’s 80th birthday, my son’s ROM, my nephew’s 1st birthday celebrations and my father’s 88th birthday. Thank you, Mother for all these and please help us to execute all the functions very well & most importantly bring the family together in happiness, peace and unity. Help us all close the year with a joyful & spiritual Christmas.

Your Child.

  1. Dear Jesus & Mother Mary,

It’s been a tumultuous time for many years. You have been with me always. Last year when I turned 48, I was diagnosed with cancer. At some point I was angry with God. Literally throwing a tantrum (albeit a short one) at God. Why was He trying to destroy me? Didn’t he create me himself, why undo what he has made? And I got even more alarmed when I found out that the form of cancer I had, was known to be aggressive. And then my oncologist told me I would require radiation therapy on top of chemo and surgery…

With your grace, I did settle down. The time I took off from work during the chemo turned out to be a good break from the daily stress and allowed me to focus more on God and my family. Chemo went smoothly. My long PIC line endured the 5 months without getting blocked or infected even though I had been warned it might last only a few weeks. Nausea lasted 3-4 days each cycle. I ate very well otherwise. You protected me from infections. During treatment, I did not have any fever episodes which would have entailed hospitalization.

I was fortunate that I was able to take time off from work. I had time to meet up with friends for brunch, walks and to go to the adoration room. I reconnected with many old friends and made new ones who reminded me about God and supported me in my treatment. These were the angels you sent my way. You gave me a renewed appreciation of my husband. I had been sniping at him for years but he has been the rock of support through all this. My children were aware but largely unaffected.

Now I am back at work. I have some neurological issues with my arm but am well otherwise. Please help me make a full recovery. Thank you for being always with me.

Gratefully, Your Daughter.
