Thanksgiving – 27 Jan 2018

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for your love and guidance for the year which just passed. 2017 was indeed a year that my husband and I received abundant blessings. My heart is filled with the greatest joy as I give testimony how I received the best gift ever last month.

My husband was a lapsed Catholic and had not received the Eucharist for 40 years. Through all these years I have never given up praying to you dear Mother, especially at the novena devotions, imploring that you would lead him back to Jesus, your Son, and to the church. I believe the first steps of his “homecoming journey” started when he agreed to attend RCIA in June 2017. On 20 December evening, he went for confession and attended the 6.30pm Mass and received Holy Communion. What a great joy!

I know for sure dear Mother, that it is through your intercession that this has happened – in God’s time and according to His plan. Please continue to intercede for my husband for the grace to deepen his faith and relationship with Jesus from hereon.

Indeed dear Mother Mary, “no one who seeks your intercession will ever be left unaided.” Thank you, I love you.

                                                                                                                          Your Grateful Daughter.

  1. Dear Mother,

As I stepped into Novena Church this morning, I recalled the first time I came before your shrine 10 years ago. And I recounted all the miracles that you have bestowed on me – a loving family, husband and 2 healthy children. Mother Mary, today I want to ask for your intercession once again to bless me that I will be cancer free. I will be going for my breast surgery very shortly. I trust in you eternally, Mother Mary.

                                                                                                                      Your Catholic Daughter.

  1. Dearest Loving Mother,

I have recently been diagnosed with the onset of Parkinsons’ disease which is treatable with medication, exercise and physiotherapy. Praise the Lord, I am responding well to the medication, with no side effects. I am also able to carry on my daily and routine activities especially driving which is my greatest comfort. For all of the above dearest Mother, I give praise to your continuous presence by my side giving me the nudge to investigate the symptoms without delay and also leading me to people I met along the way who were able to detect my condition. Thank you dearest Mother for your perpetual intercession in all my prayers to your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Your Loving Daughter.

  1. Dear Mother of Perpetual Succour,

My wife was having a very difficult pregnancy with our 5th In the 3rd trimester, my wife developed a severe form of Lupus and we were very worried for her and our baby. But with thanks to you for all your prayers and intercession, our little baby girl was born healthy and without complications. We have named her Gabrielle in honour of the messenger sent to you. This period of worry has also brought my wife and I closer to you. We are most grateful to you and the many friends who have interceded for us.

                                                                                                                              Your Catholic Son.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

I was looking for a job since last year but did not have any breakthroughs. Last week, I received a call for an interview and this week I got the job. I am so happy and it comes with a much better salary which will help me greatly in my current financial situation. Thank you so much for your mercy and blessing.

                                                                                                                               You Loving Child.

  1.  Dearest Mother,

8 years ago I gave birth to a healthy baby boy. However, my pregnancy was plagued with tremendous challenges. I was first told by my gynae that my child would not survive past my first trimester and that I should expect a miscarriage. My husband and I felt extremely worried but we believed and continued to pray fervently. During that time, I came to your shrine and prayed for your intercession to bless me with a miracle. At my visit during my second trimester, my gynae was surprised that I was still carrying my child. He was very happy for me and told me sometimes there are things beyond medical science that cannot be explained. 8 years later, my son has grown up to be a sweet and loving boy. Mother, thank you for your blessings showered upon my family and please continue to guide my son in his journey of faith.

                                                                                                                        Your Catholic Daughter.

  1. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

29 years ago my wife was diagnosed with colon cancer. We were distraught as she was also 7 months pregnant with our 3rd child. Our daughter was delivered prematurely and the surgeon operated on my wife to remove the tumour. We prayed very hard that she would be cured from her cancer and our prayers were answered 5 years after the operation when the doctor gave us the all-clear sign. My daughter is 29 years old now and we thank Mother for the many wonderful years.

                                                                                                                                 Your Loving Son.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

I would like to thank you for all you have done for me especially for the past few years. It has been very difficult for me because 3 years ago this week, I lost my 24 year old son suddenly due to an accident. I had so many questions and no answers and was in great despair. Initially, I would come and just cry in front of you cos I believed only you could understand how it was like to hold a lifeless body of your Son in your hands. You pointed me to contemplate on the figure of the PIETA and on your surrender and humble submission to God’s will especially since I was struggling with the question WHY. Through the days and months, as I prayed to you, I found comfort and some peace. Your intercession has brought angels along my grief journey to help me. I believe my son is in heaven and your intercession has helped me to stay strong in my faith. I believe the ultimate goal is eternal life and I want to go to heaven to see God and my son again. Mother Mary, I know this grief journey is life long.  Please continue to intercede for me and my family. Thank you for being a loving Mother.

                                                                                                                     Your Grateful Daughter.
