Thanksgiving – 19 Jan 2019

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for interceding for me. My son just got accepted into a company. Please continue to bless him and guide him in his new career.

Your Grateful Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you Mother and our Lord Jesus for helping me last year. I like to thank you for taking my sister and my cousin back to the Lord after a couple of months in the hospital from their sickness.

Your Loving Child.

  1. Dearest Mother,

We want to thank you greatly for your blessings and protection that you have showered upon our family during the past year. Our youngest son graduated from his university last year and he got a job immediately even though the job market was quite bad. Our daughter has married a fine young man who journeyed through the RCIA and became a Catholic in 2017. The wedding was exceptionally special because the event also brought together our siblings and nephews and their families who are residing overseas.

On the wedding day itself, the groom’s parents and relatives came to Church and experienced a Catholic Wedding Mass. We were very happy to know that our second son’s girlfriend has decided to join the RCIA program this year and we pray that she will be protected and be baptised next Easter.

Your Ever Grateful Children.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

Thank you for the year that has passed. I got married to an amazing, kind and patient man whom I can share deeply with. We are expecting our baby this April. I pray for a smooth delivery.

Your Catholic Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

I thank you for praying to your Son and granting me the grace and insight to know how to improve my relationship with my wife. I have been very passive and emotional in my interactions with her and this affected us. I would resent my spouse and her demands and would lash out or agree resentfully. During the Feast of the Holy Family, I was struck by the verse in St. Paul letter, “wives submit to your husbands and husbands love your wives and be gentle with them.” It was such a powerful verse and I am determined to change and improve in our relationship.

Your Grateful Son.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

My friends of over 40 years and I finally managed to meet up before 2018 ended. I know it was through you that this gathering materialized and with full attendance. It was a good get-together especially to know that all of us are still in good health despite our different routes in life and the challenges some of us are facing. Mother, thank you and continue to watch over us in our journey through life.

Your Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for always interceding on my behalf to our Lord Jesus Christ. I have completed my chemo and have also had a review with my doctor. Everything is under control and I thank you, Mother, for your unconditional love for me and for my recovery from cancer.

Your Non-Catholic Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

Through your intercession, our Lord pulled me out of a difficult job and placed me in a new job which is a lot more fulfilling and challenging. 2018 was also a year of peace and I want to say a big thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Your Grateful Child.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for your abundant blessings to me and my family in 2018. I would like to thank you for giving me another 36 months to work here in Singapore, I just received an email informing me of the successful renewal of my S Pass. I am also very grateful for a happy quality time with my family and friends last week in the Philippines.

Your Loving Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I have to apologise for this long delayed thanksgiving letter. I came to Singapore when I was 17, which is 17 years ago. I came as a student with a group of 7 girls. We were desperately looking for sponsorship for our studies and all the applications were rejected. Then we heard of the Novena Church from our seniors. We became regular visitors since then. Soon after we have started our visits to the Novena Church, all the 7 of us were selected by the same company for their sponsorship programme. I have received tremendous blessings from you throughout these 17 years including my children. Thank you, Mother, for your constant intercession for us.

Your Loving Catholic Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

Thank you for a wonderful 2018, I faced many challenges last year, but you have interceded and helped to get through them. One of my biggest struggles was my detention in Malaysia where I was detained for 9 nights in a lock up and 1 night in a prison. That period was such a difficult time for me and my family which I believe was not possible to get through if not for your intercession. I prayed the Rosary – 5 times a day when I myself had never been one to pray every day. This experience has brought me and my family so much closer to you and your Son. Words cannot describe the tears that would come to my eyes when I sang the hymn Praise Her With A Flower every night before I slept in the lock up. I am truly thankful for you and your Son, I will continue to grow in faith and be closer to you, dear Mother.

Your Loving Son.
