Thanksgiving – 28 Nov 2020

1. Dearest Mother,

Some months back I received an email requesting for proof of remittance so that I could file a claim to reclaim a portion of a large sum of money lost in a scam some years back. I was apprehensive about it, but felt that I had nothing to lose other than the time and effort to file these claims. Today, I received a cheque repaying part of the money I lost. I cannot express my gratitude enough to you and Jesus for being there, for continually watching over me and keeping me safe in your loving embrace. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I place all my trust in you.

Your Appreciative Daughter.

2. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for praying for me. About two weeks ago, my eye scan showed a spot which could suggest that there was some form of bleeding. I sent a petition asking for your intercession. I went back for another scan recently and was told the spot is gone. My vision was tested and it appears to be fine. This is only possible because of your intercession. Thank you Mother!

Your Daughter.

3. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you so much for answering my prayers and petitions. Thank you for praying for my son. It’s with a very grateful heart that I say thank you for helping my son secure a good job in these days of economic uncertainty.

Your Ever-Grateful Daughter.

4. Dearest Mother,

Thank you so much Mother, for helping me once again during my exam. Thank you for helping me turn to God when I was stuck and when I was about to give up. Thank you for praying for me and I know that you helped me to never give up and to trust in God. Mother, thank you for always hearing my prayer. Thank you for protecting me from evil and to turn to God.

Your Loving Daughter.

5. Dearest Mother Mary,

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there for me throughout my pregnancy and birth of my beautiful daughter. The whole process was scary for me as a first-time mother as I did not know what to expect but every time I was scared, I turned to you for comfort and guidance and you always held my hand like a mother would and I felt so assured that everything would be alright. Please continue to pray and protect my daughter that she will grow in wisdom and grace, and lead her always to your Son, Jesus.

Your Grateful Catholic Daughter.

6. Dearest Mother,

I would like to thank you and your Son, Jesus for always looking after us especially the elderlies at home. Earlier today, my 75-year old mother slipped while coming down the stairs and even fainted from the shock and impact. But miraculously, she didn’t hurt her hip nor suffer any injury to her back and spine. Only her foot is bruised and injured. It is something very minor compared to how she actually fell. I know your Son sent His angels to cushion her fall as it is written, “He will send His angels to guard you and keep you safe lest you dash your foot against a stone.” And I know you will continue to watch over all your children with love and protection! I am certain of it! You are so loving a mother always ready to come to her children’s assistance. I want to shout to the world and let others know: you are truly our Mother of Perpetual Help! We love you.

Your Loving Child.

7. Dearest Mother Mary,

This is the second thanksgiving letter I am writing to you. Over 2 years ago, I came tearing and kneeling before you over a legal case that my wife got herself into because of trusting the wrong and greedy person, but your Motherly love has set her free. Now your love has even touched her to believe in you and your dearest Son, Our Lord Jesus. My wife is now in her RCIA Journey and she attends each lesson attentively. I’m so joyful and am lost for words. I thank you Mother.

Your Son.

8. Dearest Mama Mary,

I came to know you at age 30+ and was baptised at age 50+. Now I am age 70 years old and thank you for all the blessings with good health, two healthy children and two grandchildren. Thank you for the part-time employment at the age of 70. Thank you for answering my prayers whenever I needed help.

Your Grateful Catholic Daughter.

9. Dearest Mother,

This thanksgiving letter is long overdue. I want to give thanks to God and to you, Mother Mary, for protecting and guiding me throughout my working life. I reached my statutory retirement age in August and am currently re-employed. Even though my salary is substantially cut, I am still very grateful to the Lord and to you, my Blessed Mother, for being able to have a job in these difficult times. I am the sole bread winner and have two school-going children with one studying in a tertiary institution and the other still in primary school. I know you are always with me and my family all this time as well as interceding for us. Your beloved Son, our Lord Jesus, has always given us timely help, both spiritually and financially. No words can express how thankful I am for the continued blessings and graces that I receive everyday. All I know is that I can trust you and your Son wholeheartedly to be my life planners and protectors. Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart.

Your Grateful Son.

10. Dearest Mother,

I am grateful beyond words to you that by your most powerful prayers to God, I completed my National Service last week. With your constant maternal love and intercession, I managed to finish this milestone in my life which I was very worried about previously. Thank you for guiding me, loving me and praying for me. Please pray for me for my next stage in life, which is university. I will be having my admission test this coming week and I will give my best to it and if God’s will, I will be able to enter medical school successfully. But most of all, let me always follow your ‘Fiat’, and trust in God’s will in everything that I do. Let me abandon myself to His Divine Providence. Thank you, my most sweet and gentle Mother!

Your Loving Son.
