Thanksgiving – 24 Aug 2019

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

A few months ago, I wrote to you to intercede for my friend who is going through a divorce. A few weeks ago, she told me that the judge has accepted the settlement which is amicable for her, her children and husband. Thank you for your powerful and swift intercession with Jesus our Lord and our God so that her proceedings did not have to drag for too long. Please continue to pray for my friend, her children and family as they start a new life.

Your Loving Catholic Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

Thank you, Mother Mary for granting me a promotion this year. Thank you for helping my dad to stay alcohol-free for more than 2 years after a 50-year addiction to alcohol. I also thank you for granting my brother’s business to be successful after many years of failure. Continue to pray for him that he may return to Jesus one day.

Your Daughter.

  1. Dear Mother Mary,

Thank you for my 37th Birthday that I got to travel and be here in Singapore. Thank you for giving me opportunities in Canada. I pray for good health, prosperity and love and joy for me and my family in Canada. Let me be an instrument of your blessings.

Your Loving Child.

  1. Dearest Mother,

My sister-in-law was in debt and her relationship with her mother and husband was not going well. She was in serious trouble and that is why I had been praying for her. My wife and I were always concerned. One day, she received a huge lump sum of commission for the business deal that she was working on. With that money, she was able to pay all her debts. It was such a relief. Without your intercession, it would not be possible. Thank you so much, Mother Mary.

Your Son.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for watching over my family and me, keeping me free from danger. Thank you for the results that I received recently. I can finally graduate and make my parents proud.

Your Loving Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I remember coming to the Novena Church when I was a very young girl. First, with my elder brother, then I would come bringing my younger cousins. We would walk from Short Street to Thomson Road and back. I then stopped coming to the Novena regularly when I got married and raised my children. But I always prayed to you, my Mother, for your prayers and intercession. Recently, I attended one Novena Session and all the memories of coming to the Novena Church in the early years returned to me. I also started to recall the many blessings my family and I have received over the years because of your constant love and protection. Truly we have been blessed! I am now 85 years old, and I have decided to return to the weekly Novena. This time I have returned with my children. I cannot think of a better Thanksgiving to you, my Mother, and to your Son, Jesus Christ, than for my family and I to start our Saturdays with the 7am Morning Mass, followed by the Rosary Recitation, and finally ending with the 8am Novena Devotion.

Your Faithful and Loving Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother,

On the 6th of August, I was on my way to Malaysia and the bus which I was travelling in stopped at the Johor Bahru Immigration check-point when a miracle happened to me. I was on the road standing beside the bus trying to retrieve my travelling bag from the luggage compartment. But before I could lift it up, the bus driver suddenly drove off forcing me to move side-ways. So, I released my grip on the bag, lost my balance and found myself landing on the road. My travel companion who witnessed the incident told me that actually I flipped and rolled 3 times side-ways, like a human ball before I landed on the road. It happened so suddenly and I was in shock. All I remember was that I had a soft landing and sustained minor scratches. I am thankful that you, Mother Mary, must have protected me with your gentle hand. Otherwise, worse things could have happened to me. Mother, you must have heard my daily prayer to you, thanking you for your Love and Care for me and asking you to continue to guide and protect me. I will always be thankful and grateful to you, Mother Mary for saving my life in this incident. I will continue to visit your shrine every Saturday without fail. I also promise to make you known to others as you are our Mother of Perpetual Help.

Your Non-Catholic Son.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

I want to thank you for looking after me. I fell and hurt my head. I went to the hospital and did a CT scan. Miraculously, there was no bleeding except for a bump on the head. There was no fracture or other injuries. I am sure you were watching over me. Thank you, Mother, for looking after me all these years. I am forever grateful to you.

Your Loving Child.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

We are a couple from India, currently residing in Singapore. We were longing for a child since our marriage. But chances were very low due to some medical reasons. We came to this Church regularly hoping Jesus will bless us with a baby. Within one month of coming to this Church, I am blessed with a baby. I am now 3 months pregnant. I hope this letter helps other couples longing for a child to believe in Jesus and you.

  1. Dearest Mother,

My father has mild dementia and his sense of direction is poor. A few months ago, he had a medical appointment at the National Cancer Centre and my mother had to accompany him. They were early so they had coffee nearby. My father wanted to use the toilet while my mother stayed waiting for the coffee to arrive. She saw him going into the toilet but waited very long and still didn’t see him come out of the toilet. She decided to go and look for him. She raised her voice calling him from outside the toilet but there was no reply. A man came out of the toilet and told my mother no one else was inside. She panicked and called me immediately. I didn’t know what to do as well. I called the operator assistance of the center but they didn’t announce over the PA system for a missing person. They told me to inform the clinic that he was missing and they might be able to help. After some time, there was still no news. I even called my cousin who was not working at that time to go to the NCC and stay with my mother in case she needed help. I took a taxi and rushed down and while in the taxi I prayed “Mother Mary, please help to bring my father back to the clinic”. Within the next 5 minutes, the clinic called me and informed me that my father was found! What a relief, I never felt so much relief. I know my prayer was answered. I could not ask for more as long as my father was safe and sound.

  1. Dearest Mother of Perpetual Help,

You have given me the greatest gift of my life – the conversion of my mother on her deathbed, 14 years ago. Her only encounter with the faith was through her visits to the Novena. She named herself, Mary, without anyone’s prompting when the priest asked for her baptism name, when she woke up briefly from her coma. I believe it was her way to express her gratitude for your intercession and prayers. She was able to live a good life till she saw my niece enter Primary School. Mother, I am deeply grateful. Thank you for leading my dearest earthly mother back home to God. As the first convert in my family who is now joined by my mother, I continue to seek your intercession for the conversion for the rest of my family members.

Your Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

I want to thank you and your Son, Jesus, for helping my mother to go through a successful operation. She is 81 years old with a serious stomach problem. Two days before her operation, she came to Novena and prayed and was blessed by one of the priests. I am grateful that my mother has been discharged after 8 days in hospital.

  1. Dearest Mother,

I thank you for the wonderful blessings that you have given to my family especially to my father. Thank you for helping him to be strong and do the right things and I also thank you for healing my sickness and for your guidance in school. Help me to do the right thing always and to be a loving child.

Your Loving Daughter.

  1. Dearest Mother Mary,

I thank you for the petition that I prayed for has been answered. You and your Son, Jesus, have helped me sell off the flat. Please guide me through the process that everything will go on smoothly and I may be able to secure interim housing while waiting to purchase my other flat.

Your Daughter.
