Thanksgiving – 21 Nov 2020

1. Dearest Mother Mary,

I am writing this letter to thank you, my dear Mother Mary and our Lord Jesus for sending the Archbishop, all priests, brothers and lay people in Singapore, who have made it possible for us to continue to worship, pray, ponder on reflections/stories shared and attend Mass or Novena online. Mother Mary, you are full of grace and love that you desire to help and intercede on my prayers for my family, friends and other personal prayers are overwhelming, rich and blessed. Thank you, Mother that my family and I were able to attend Mass in Church since July. That we are “Ok’ despite the fact that we have not had an income since March. OK means we are healthy, comfortable and happy. Thank you dear Jesus and Mother Mary for all the things that this life has to offer like a Sunday Mass in a month besides online services, nature walks, fresh produce available in the market, rain, birds singing, grass growing, friends and family, a roof over our heads, good fresh air to breathe, good transportation system, great health services, and many, many, more. With sincere gratitude and full of love.

Your Grateful Daughter.

2. The last few months I was working from home. I was assigned training online for new roles and was having difficulty coping. This week, you, Mother, appeared in my dream telling me you will help and guide me and not to worry. Since then, the online training seems to be very smooth and I can understand better than before. Thank you, dear Mother for your guiding hand. Please continue to guide me in the coming weeks to face whatever comes by, as we will be assigned to new roles.

Your Catholic Daughter.

3. Dearest Mother Mary,

I turned 30 this year. I have only just discovered your motherly help and prayers a few years back after going to the Novena one Saturday morning with my husband (then boyfriend). Thank you for giving me all the blessings in my life: a loving family, a wonderful husband, a great job and colleagues, my dream home and a great life overall. I went through a bout of health issues in the last year undergoing 2 day-surgeries over one year. Thank you for always keeping me in your prayers and blessing me with this amazing life.

Your Grateful Daughter.

4. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for answering my petitions to help my new Chinese daughter-in-law to get a job and her long-term Visa approved. We are so grateful during this tough job market and friends who helped to make this happen within 2 months.

Your Loving Daughter.

5. Dearest Mother Mary,

I am 40 weeks pregnant and have had such a wonderful pregnancy so far. Thank you so much Mother for your prayers and intercessions for me and my baby. Please pray for me that the delivery will be smooth and baby will be safe and healthy. So grateful to our Lord for this baby.

Your Catholic Daughter.

6. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for my 80th birthday and your blessings of good health.

Your Grateful Child.

7. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for giving me hope and faith in God to help not only myself who had fallen into despair (due to eczema) but also my family especially my mother, sister and brother. Thank you for your patience and ensuring me that you are always there for me.

Your Daughter.

8. Dearest Mother,

When I lost my job 3 months ago due to Covid-19, I feared that I would be sent back to my home country without being able to come back to Singapore anytime in the future. I was worried and desperate because I could not get a new job soon before my work pass expired. Fortunately, my employer was able and willing to put me on unpaid leave for an indefinite period of time while retaining my work pass. During these months of unemployment, I have been holding on to my faith in God’s love and asking for your intercession. Although I am bleeding in money, spiritually I am full. I can spend hours in prayer every day, read the Scriptures, attend Bible courses which all were hardly possible during my hectic working hours. It was indeed God’s grace. I cling on to my memory of how God blessed me 2 years ago and granted me a good job when the future seemed bleak. Now I trust that He is a great planner. After months of prayer, my despair was slowly changed to surrender. Today, although I have not gotten a job, I was given a much more precious gift. To my surprise, the PR application that I submitted one year ago and I thought would be rejected due to the current situation, was approved. I am so surprised and happy for this great gift through your intercession, Mother. Words really cannot express my joy! It feels surreal that I am finally freed from my worries after almost a decade staying in Singapore under a work pass. Today I can stay here permanently and call this place my home. This would not have been possible without your intercession. The Almighty indeed works marvels for me, Holy is His name. Thank you very much Mother Mary.

Your Loving Catholic Daughter.
