Thanksgiving – 14 Nov 2020

1. Dearest Mother Mary,

It is with so much pain in my heart that I am writing this letter, because I cannot attend the Novena on Saturdays. Going to the Novena has been my life plan and never in my wildest dream that I thought such a disaster like the Covid-19 pandemic could stop me from attending the Novena. I am sure many other people have the same feeling who like me, attending the Novena above all things was their priority, too.

Most of them, like me, it was first on our agenda every Saturday morning. The funny part is that most of my close friends know that too, they will say things like “Don’t bother to call her to go out on a Saturday morning as her Novena comes first”.

Indeed that was my life. My mother, God bless her soul, was the one who brought me to Novena when I was 12 years old and sitting for the PSLE. My mother was not catholic, a friend of hers told her that if you are worried about your daughter’s PSLE, go to the Novena. And that has been my mother’s life till she passed on, attending the Novena every Saturday come rain or shine.

I have written many petitions, probably up to the roof to Jesus and you and every prayer has been answered in one way or another. With all life’s turmoils, I would not have made it this far, if not for your intercession to Jesus.

Your Daughter.

2. Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,

Thank you for all your blessings and intercession in my 66 years of life. Thank you for being in my life, guiding my career and a smooth working life till my retirement. Thank you for a loving and supportive husband. Thank you for watching over my children, keeping them safe, sensible and healthy and growing up into responsible adults and contributing to society. Please continue to bless, guide and protect them from danger.

Your Catholic Daughter.

3. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for interceding in our prayers and reminding me of God’s unending love. May we never lose hope and continue to trust in Him just like what you did.

Your Child.

4. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you for your love, protection and prayers for my family. I feel so blessed to be able to attend Mass and receive Jesus as I celebrate my birthday and to encounter Jesus’ healing grace and gift of peace. Please continue to walk with us each day and keep us always close to your Son Jesus.

Your Grateful Daughter.

5. Dearest Mother Mary,

Thank you very much for your blessings. As I celebrate my 67th birthday, I will be retiring this month after working for 48 years. In my next chapter of life, please continue to pray and guide me.

Your Loving Daughter.

6. Dearest Mother Mary,

This letter is long overdue. My wife had a surgery some time ago and recovered speedily due to your kind intercession. Words are not enough to express my sincere thanks to you.

Your Grateful Son.

7. Dearest Mother Mary,

I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every two weeks I write a letter to Mother Mary to intercede for my daughter-in-law for a safe delivery. She gave birth on 15 October with a safe delivery & to a healthy baby boy. Mother please continue to bless both parents to be good parents to the child. Mother I also want to thank you for your intercession for my biopsy test result which is mild. My cancer came back and doctor advised me to go for chemotherapy. Mother help me to go through this difficult period. Mother I love you and thank you.

Your Loving Daughter.

8. Dearest Mother Mary,

We are expecting the arrival of our twins soon. As first-time parents, my husband and I are nervous and excited. Thank you for interceding for us. We managed to find a confinement nanny and our appeal for a domestic helper was successful. You have watched over me as I was experiencing severe nausea and vomiting in my first trimester. Thankfully I am now gaining weight and the babies are healthy. We pray that you continue to watch over us and guide us to be good parents.

Your Ever-Grateful Daughter.
